Re: Who's got the most gimmicky free throw routine?
Grant Hill holds the ball in one arm and wipes then sweat, then switches sides and does the same before shooting. Right? Something like thatComment

That'd be funny if I didn't have to cringe everytime Ben Wallace shoots a FT, since his wrist can pop out at times.Comment

Re: Who's got the most gimmicky free throw routine?
I mentioned Nick Van Exel's at the beginning.
How come no responses to this guy's routine?
Are you guys buying that he feels more comfortable like he says....or is it just straight gimmick?
For me, it is nothing but gimmick..with a taste of arrogance.Comment

If I recall correctly, Mark Jackson's "hand in the air" thing was to help him focus or aim better when he shot free throws... I remember him doing that way back when he was at St. John's...Comment

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

You don't think its arrogant he shoots a free throw from 18 feet instead of the given 15 feet? Why not adjust and shoot...............eh forget it. I'm arguing with jmood. Nevermind.Comment

Re: Who's got the most gimmicky free throw routine?
I remember it being discussed on TV, when he started doing it... I just think he's more comfortable there. IIRC, it was something about him being long on more FTs when he was at the stripe... If he's a few feet back, he has more wiggle room.... It's not like he's going out and launching three pointers for free throws... I think it's just a matter of him having a comfort zone.Comment
