That's what I want to see, hopefully Frye can put up 17ppg and 8 boards.

If things look bad halfway through the season they should have a fire sale and just keep Curry, Frye, and Robinson

Hopefully Curry is used properly and becomes effective enough too.
          Larry Brown timeline

          Years Team Record

          72-74 Carolina Cougars 104-64
          74-79 Denver Nuggets 251-134
          79-81 UCLA Bruins 42-17
          81-83 New Jersey Nets 91-67
          83-88 Kansas Jayhawks 135-44

          97-03 Philadelphia 76ers 255-205
          03-05 Detroit Pistons 108-56
          05-06 New York Knicks 23-59

More harm than good? The only team he did bad with was the Knicks, thats because they quit on him.

Other than the Knicks, where was he a loser at?

Larry Brown is a joke. So are the Knicks right now for doing this but that is another story. LB gets himself out of contracts and into better new ones like he did witht he Pistons and Knicks. Then the Pistons owner says he doesn't want to work with a guy like that. Now James Dolan doesn't like him either. We all know about him and Allen Iverson. He jumps from team to team looking for his next paycheck. For some reason he ditched the Pistons, and I'm sure he pulled something on the Knicks as well. I don't understand why he does this but I'm sure he'll end up with some other team next year, sign a long term deal, and then do the same thing over again. The funniest part of it was how leading up to it his agent was saying that he had no idea what was going on, and that LB planned on coaching for the Knicks next year. Yeah Right

There are zero indications that Larry did anything to try and get out of this deal. There were no rumors of him possibly leaving until that buyout story came out.

Brown has done a lot of shady things to get out of deals in his career, but this wasn't one of them. This was all the knicks, and they proved even more that they are by far the biggest joke in all of sports with how they handled this. How long did this thing go on? Over a month I believe. I'm not going to feel bad for Larry because he's making a ton of money on it, but there was no reason to drag this out and it just made the whole franchise look horrible.

And giving Isiah more power is just going to set this franchise back even more. Sure, we might win a few more games next year, it would be hard to get worse. But this roster still sucks, and Isiah isn't exactly proved to be a real success as a head coach. Maybe we'll win 10 more games, but we aren't going to make the playoffs.

The good news is after we fail this year Dolan might finally get rid of Isiah, but that should be happening now. All this is doing is throwing away a year and probably letting Isiah add a bunch of long term contracts, especially during the season when the team is struggling and he's trying to save his job.

                  Finally!!

Larry Brown was not using the new Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars (Starbury and Franchise) to their utmost potential. Now, Isiah can see his vision come to fruition without LB standing in his way!!

So Brown still gets the $40 million even if he get fired? Seems like a win-win situation for him. These Knicks aren't going anywhere though I do think they will have a better record under Isiah just because they will play harder and Isiah will play to their strenghts.

There was no indication, that's true. The bottom line is he did one years work, with a crappy job, and still got his money. Maybe it wasn't the typical LB contract handling situation, but it still felt just wrong. Brown must've done something wrong to make Dolan not like him. Isiah has had the team longer than Brown and for some reason Dolan likes him. Like you said it's definately a throwaway year, but I am interseted in who they get in the draft. Isiah did well with last year's draft now maybe he can find some solid players at the bottom of the first round.

I hope you all realize that this is a precursor to Zeke naming himself player-coach and the Knicks starting the 3-headed backcourt monster of him, Franchise, and Starbury next season.

He didn't kiss Dolan's, Isiah's, and all the players ***. He didn't act like everything was great during a 23 win season.

That's why he's gone. Dolan doesn't like when his employees don't act like everything is going great. And I'm sure Isiah didn't like that Brown criticized his players, and I'm sure he had something to do with it.

If your going to dump Larry Brown, Isiah has to be the coach. It's his team and even last year it was obvious he was still getting his players, not Larry's players. Isiah knows he will get this year to save his job and if the Knicks have a better year he will come out of all this not looking so bad.

Dolan hired Larry Brown thinking the Knicks would have instant success and Larry gave them the 2nd worst record in the NBA. So Dolan turned sour on him and hired Isiah a guy who he trusts and also a guy he doesn't have to pay after just dumping 40 mil.

Isiah can coach this current squad better than Brown, thought they still wont go anywhere. If NY made the right moves, they could have a solid little team, but I doubt they do.

On the Larry Brown note, it any team even thinks about signing him to a contract more than 2 years, they'd be fooling themselves. Give him a 1 year deal with a team option for the 2nd year. He's proven, whether his fault or not, that he cant stay in one place at this point.
