Why? it has been a yawner the last 8 years except for the year with Vince. Amare should put his name in the hat though.

yeah, it's pretty lame now, I hate how all the stars todat refuse to participate. Back in the day, all the top players were in the dunk contest, now it's a bunch of rookies and bench warmers. Imagine how sweet it would be this year if Kobe, T-Mac, Vince Carter, Darius Miles, Stackhouse etc.... and some other stars were in it. There would be so much more hype.

ricky davis when he was on charlotte did i great job in the contest. i wanna see him this year, he has a lot of charisma to the crowd.

It's never going to be quite as exciting as it was the first years, nothing will match the MJ vs Wilkins or the Spud Webb years. It's all been done, there's only so much you can do with a basketball, Vince was just a freak and he kept it exciting, but not even JRich, Mason or Ricky Davis can so anything as spectacular as VC, none of them are jaw dropping anymore, it's still impressive, but they're doing stuff we've seen before.
