I agree with that. If you've ever played sports, you'd understand how big emotion is in a game. Was last year's world series fixed (you know, just happening to hit a home run to take the lead) or NCAA football games fixed (Dorsey could make that pass to the TE in his sleep) or even NCAA B-ball games fixed (Duke or Kentucky hit like 20 3pointers in like the 2nd half alone and don't get called for fouls). Get serious. Do you think this guys get paid this much to act? Yeah, maybe the refs get caught in the home court emotion advantage, but that's only human. To say that these games are fixed takes alot away from the players and rowdy fans of all sports.

Re: Is Basketball Fixed?
sports fixed? no.
do you think the ball is remote controlled for the super-star players to sink all their shots?
think before you make posts like this..
just look at ABC, they waited like 30 years to get the NBA and the first game they broadcast is a ****ty blowout on Christmas day (Nets vs Celtics) .. the announcers kept saying "now we know Boston will go on a run .. but the question is how close will that run get them?" .. well guess what? there wasn't a run at all. The game sucked.
This is just one example .. dig deep and you'll find a thousand more.

Exactly, games like that outnumber the games where there are comebacks made, but if you are looking for something, you will find it. He just wanted some examples to further his theory, you could probably some up with an arguement that teams with a player that won the national championship never win an NBA championship......you can find examples of anything if you look hard enough. It's crazy what people will come up with.....Comment

Will, I don't mean to disrespect you but what you said is exactly what they want the public to think. They just want you to say, "drop it, sports aren't fixed." But, in reality, you are simply denying the truth that sports may indeed be fixed and you do not want to accept it. You simply want to think that sports are pure because you couldn't imagine something that should be pure possibly being crooked. Have an open mind about the topic and try to just analyze the situation for a second and you may see that there have been "coincidental" instances where sports may have not been as pure as you conceive it to be.
Sometimes things are not what they seem.

Are you seriously typing this with a straight face?
Oh, and for future notes, saying "No disrespect meant" doesn't give you a free pass to disrespect someone. If you're gonna do it, don't bullsh!t it.Comment

Re: Is Basketball Fixed?
Ok, let's get something straight children. First of all, I did not create this thread to get insulted by you little jerkoffs. I created this post to get some output from you guys. I wanted to see what you guys felt about the situation. I did not insult anyone with this post nor did I offend anyone. All I said was that I believe basketball is fixed, through the refs or whatever. And for that person who made the comment that basketball cant be fixed because the Kings lost on their own, that is exactly why I think basketball is fixed. The Lakers generate more money in Los Angeles than the Kings do in Sacramento because it's a bigger market. My point is that the bigger market teams may end up winning because the NBA is trying to generate as much money as possible. It seems like you people believe everything you here. Was JFK actually killed by Lee Harvey Oswald? That's what the government wants you to believe, but there have been theories that prove it could not have been done by him. But the government contends that it was him. So are you going to believe the government just because they are the government or are you going to believe the facts? Just because the NBA "government" says basketball is not fixed, does that necessarily mean it isn't? Or could it be that they are just saying that? All I am saying is to open up your minds and just try to see my point that maybe, just maybe, basketball is not 100% pure. Is boxing 100% pure? I doubt it. So why does basketball have to be? The point is that nobody knows for sure so this is just speculation. So instead of insulting me and saying there was no reason for this post, maybe you could just express your opinion politely instead of being rude and juvenile.Comment

Re: Is Basketball Fixed?
Seriously , think about it... out of all the players who have entered and left the NBA, don't you think a few of them woulda spoken up about the game they loved being .. "fixed" ?
yea, LA is a huge marketing franchise.. so why do they suck this year?
Once again .. just requesting that you think before you post. I think everyone agrees that the NBA is not fixed, so why post about it?
and if you don't like what you hear, you shouldn't have started this thread in the first place.Comment

Re: Is Basketball Fixed?
You need to take a chill pill. Pretty soon your going to be posting about how the NBA is some kind of secret government agency slowly turning the public into zombies of the government. If you really believe the NBA is rigged (), well, then your truly alone in the world on this, and I'm a friggin' King's fan!

well Noa, I did not expect to get insulted my someone like yourself. And, if you read above, there are others with OPEN MINDS who agree with me. Try to understand something . . . YOU ARE NOT ALWAYS RIGHT. SO don't act like you know everything. Now, let's try to get some other opinions. Does anyone else think that basketball might be fixed?Comment

Ok fellas, let's kill the insults, shall we? This was not created to insult anyone. Let's try to stick to the subject. Does anyone else agree with me that basketball might be fixed? And for the record, someone agreed with me earlier in the thread.Comment

Re: Is Basketball Fixed?
There is a big difference between fixed games and crooked refs.
yes, the super stars get treatment .. they also send christmas presents to refs and take them out for dinner.
but you're asking if the NBA (league) is fixed.. and the answer would be "NO".
and, btw.. did I really "insult" you?Comment
