Nice to see Papaloukas schooling cats again, but Trajan Langdon? That's just embarassing.

I don't know why Langdon doesn't have another NBA contract yet, he's still a baller.

He's a Dookie, that's why. Few Dookies can make it in the NBA.

If Shammond Williams can get a contract, I don't see why Trajan can't.

Credit that inexplicable move to Mitch. Wow, first it was Mckie, this season Williams.

Langdon could be a decent pickup for certain teams. Probably his defense that prevents him from getting a contract.

Oh no doubt he probably loves it a whole hell of a lot overseas. He is probably one of the elite players.. I wouldn't doubt that he'd rather play over there than here.

I'm not a Dashboard guy anymore, kind of moved on. Just wanted to keep the name in there.

that's gotta be one of the worst excuses ever. You don't get out of shape if you're an nba player. That says something to me about the nba.

Lol. These guys are human man.. they aren't machines. They aren't expected to train every single day after the season is over. Even taking a couple weeks off can throw your body off.. it takes a bit for athletes to get back into the swing of things and to be able to go at full speed.

Weren't you "done with the NBA" or whatever? It's apparent you don't enjoy the league anymore so why continue bitching about it. You are defintely reaching with this latest shot at the league.

Hes not really reaching. Shaq schedules surgery for the early season when it could have been done in the offseason. Less than a month into the season Ron Artest asks for time away from the team to promote his rap albom. Now Maggette admits players rely on preseason to get in shape. When you compare that with the NFL, the NBA really looks bad in terms of their level of professionalism. Perhaps that wasnt what Maggette was trying to say or perhaps he would choose to say it differently but whose fault is that?

In the NFL, you get fined for coming to camp out of shape.

The NFL is an entirely different animal. Contracts in the NBA are guarenteed, so yes their players might not feel as inclined to train as rigourously as NFL players do in the offseason, but that has nothing to do with that poster's comment: "NBA players don't get out of shape". Bodies can only take so much, you have to shut it down every once and awhile. I won't defend the NBA any further than that, as most of the players are probably egotistical, selfish a-holes. I was just addressing the fact that athletes are human too, and their bodies will breakdown eventually without rest.

As far as Shaq and Artest, those are two sepearate issues that have nothing do with this issue. Shaq is notorious for being out of shape, Artest is obviously a nutcase.

In the last few years, I have come to this conclusion. In MLB, NFL, and NHL, most of the players play for championships. In the NBA, most of the players play to be part of the "life", they play for the money. I think very few NBA players care whether they win or not. I just don't see the same passion and heart in the NBA that I see in those other sports I mentioned.

These losses to European teams is all the evidence we need.
