Re: What a performance by Andre Bynum tonight.....
Excellent game tonight by the young fella. Like his passing out of the post. Great win for the Lakers tonight, loved the passion to come back after giving up almost fifty in the first quarter. Andrew needs to work on his positioning on defense, he seems to be holding back something to avoid foul trouble. I'd like to see him close down the lane more.Comment

Re: What a performance by Andre Bynum tonight.....
I think that out of the three of them, Bynum just proved why the franchise will go through him. Probably won't be the same type of guy as Shaq was but he sure does have a great mind in the game on the offensive side. Definitely want to see how it goes for them against a legit big man team though. I wonder if he is foul prone or not. Very patient. Kareem has taught him well. Lakers vs. Heat Christmas Day right? Juicy. Bynum is exactly what Kwame was suppose to be. If Kwame turns out decent this year after injury and Bynum keeps filling out to be better, I don't see how the West will survive. I hope they telecast Mavs vs. Lakers too. Need to check out that schedule.......Comment

Re: What a performance by Andre Bynum tonight.....
Amare is no slouch, although he didn't play much. But it was not like the Suns had no bigs. Bynum may prove to be the second best center in the west this season. Consistency will be the measuring stick, as this is rookie season since we didn't see much of him last year. There is not much as far as scouting reports go for now. If he continues to improve, then Kwame or Mihm need to be shipped out. Between Radmonovic, Mihm, Brown, Turiaf, and Cook there aren't too many minutes to spread around. If Mihm doesn't show explicit dominance, then he may be the one to go. Turiaf is needed for hustle, Cook and Radmonovic for spreading the floor, so its between Kwame and Mihm for the other true center spot.Comment

Re: What a performance by Andre Bynum tonight.....
If it comes down to Brown and Mihm.. LOL I'm sure as hell not taking Mihm. But the personnel they have right now is fine.. you can't depend on Bynum to be the true backup center. Keep him around as the third center to play in spots, that'll work best for both him and the team.
This is pretty much the team L.A. will have for the next three years. Everyone is under contract, so get used to it! The only route to acquiring new players would be trades.. and I highly doubt anyone wants anything the Lakers have to offer.. considering their contracts/talent.
Edit: Chris Mihm is a FA after this season! He could be gone, but I wouldn't give him the boot too quickly. I believe Cookie, Luke and Smush are also FA's after this year. Hopefully they don't desire too much money because the Lakers won't be able to offer much. But all players I would like to keep around, especially Cook and Luke.
The players under contract for awhile:
Kobe, Lamar, Kwame, Bynum, Farmar, Vladamir, Sasha
Turiaf has a team option after this yearLast edited by ex carrabba fan; 11-01-2006, 12:04 PM.Comment

Cook and Luke signed new deals recently. Cook actually signed his last night before the game.Comment

Re: What a performance by Andre Bynum tonight.....
I have no idea why they stuck him on Bynum. Kurt Thomas had some sets against Andrew as well. You have to understand that Andrew only played 23 minutes. So even if Diaw was exclusively guarding him (which he wasn't) the performance was still exceptional.Comment

Re: What a performance by Andre Bynum tonight.....
Wow. Didn't hear about either of those. I'm happy I guess, because I know at least Cook would have gotten looks from other teams looking for some shooting. Any word on the length and money? It looks like the team is locked in for the rest of Kobe's prime.Comment

Re: What a performance by Andre Bynum tonight.....
Nope, you dont keep three centers, Bynum needs minutes if is to improve. since Turiaf can also play at center, then Brown or Mihm need to be moved. If not, then Bynum just sits on the bench wasted. If Mihm is going to be a fa then moving him is easiest. The Lakers may be able to pick up insurance at the point.
The Lakers have a lot to offer as they have quality players at the three and four spots. These can be packaged if you desire a star level player. The Lakers can easily package three good players together to make a move.Comment

A couple of his scores deep in the paint were early in the game on Amare.Comment

As far as them having a lot to offer, GM's won't be fooled. Most of these players are tailored for the Lakers' system. The only players that are of any value are Luke, Cook, Lamar, and Andrew. I wouldn't trade any of those players, unless we were to get a bonafide star (KG is pretty much all I can think of, even then maybe not).Comment

I don't know. Bynum just turned 19. He's had one exceptional game, he hasn't proved anything yet! I wouldn't be too quick to send a big away.

Agreed with pretty much everything you said. KG would have me say yes, its time to trade but McHale is never going to trade KG to a team he hates like the Lake show.
It will be interesting to say the least how Bynum looks this season. He will get PT for sure with our other two 5's out.
I want to see how he performs against some of the bigger west teams.Comment

Re: What a performance by Andre Bynum tonight.....
Exactly. Not only was this one game at the start of the season, but the Suns certainly don't have any dominant post defensive players. And they aren't that big inside either.Comment
