I almost did in my fantasy league and then thought i could wait a while since he was projected to be ranked around 500th. Someone picked him up after the first game tho.. o well.

      Bynum is.................................... Ballin!

I may owe Mitch Cup an apology! I dogged dude last year after they drafted Bynum, so I'll be the first to say, "I was wrong".

I guess this is what happens when you have Kareem Abdul Jabbar as your big man coach.

Mihm is DONE! With Bynum, Kwame, Turiaf, Cook, the Lakers don't need Christina Mihm.

Lakers are gonna be tough this year. Look out Phoenix. Kobe is out to prove everybody wrong about him not wanting to win and be a team player. In practice yesterday he was lecturing people for not moving and cutting and standing around when he had the ball.

Good to be a Lakers fan!

When I heard he had 8 early in the game, I can tell he was feeling it. How did Farmar look? It sounded like he was also having a quality performance. I see Mihm being packaged to get that missing piece. The only thing is I thought the missing piece was Garnett, but Odom is too valuable now to get Garnett. Maybe a pointguard is needed, someone that is clutch in the playoffs. Maybe someone like Mike bibby.

Jordan had a tough game, 0-7. He's at about 18 MPG, which is a ton of minutes for playing under Jackson. He's had a great season thus far, and had a great game at Seattle the other night going 5-6. He's a smart kid who is going to be the starter eventually in his career, I'd say in the next couple of years.

As far as trading Mihm, if we could get another solid player I would probably be all for it. Problem is, we would need to include more than just Chris probably to attain someone of the Mike Bibby caliber. Judging from the pre-season and early into this season I wouldn't touch a thing. The only players I'd consider moving are Sasha, Mckie, Smush, Mihm, and possibly Kwame (although as previously stated, I am expecting big things from him).

Odom won't be leaving any time soon. Farmar was HORRIBLE last night. HORRIBLE. Smush was better, albeit barely.

I'm a Smush fan, and want to see him do well, but he plays no defense and his game has been off this year so far. Farmar might be the right move at PG but not for a while yet. We'll see if Smush getting pushed by Farmar has any effect on his game.....

he was horrible? wow why because his shot was off? he still had some sweet assist and play much better defense than smush ever will.. smush is on the verge of losing his job even phil is starting to suggest it subliminally.

His shot was off, his defense sucked, his passing was not crisp... and though he had only one turnover, he could easily have had 5. I thought Farmar played very poor.

That said, Smush wasn't much better, if he was. I did think Smush's D was better but his decision making wasn't good.

I want to root for Smush but he's making it hard. Farmar starting won't happen anytime soon but his minutes will go up and up is Smush continues to literally blank out for quarters at a time.

I don't necessarily think that Bibby is needed at this point. Especially since you got Odom pretty much running the offense. But another decent perimeter/SF defender or another PF would be good. Someone who can start as a perimeter defender since Smush can't handle the job too well.

Oh I don't specifically want Bibby. I was responding to another post where Bibby's name was mentioned. My point was that to acquire a decent talent, only trading Chris Mihm isn't going to get anyone of note. At least I don't think he alone is enough, I don't believe he's making too much money so his contract should not be a factor.

We are kind of logjammed at every position:
                        Smush
                        Farmar
                        Sasha

                        Kobe
                        Mo Evans

                        Luke
                        Vladamir

                        Lamar
                        Ronny
                        Brian Cook

                        Bynum
                        Brown
                        Mihm

That depth chart is pretty solid, especially once Brown can return. Brian Cook only got 5 minutes last night, now that's saying something. I can't see where we would even need to add a player, unless he's in the caliber of a Mike Bibby or KG type. I don't see any star players coming to L.A. anytime soon via the trade route.

I like Smush Parker, but I'm starting to hate him because of his 12 year old boy hair cut.

I also think Jordan Farmar is a talent... he was the only player that did anything against the Gators in the Championship last year. But I hate his hair as well, he looks like a total DBag, and I'll probably never root for him because he looks like a mouse who swam through a jar of hair gel.

All LA needs is a PG who can dribble the ball past half court, hit the occassional open shot and play solid defense. I think Farmar and Parker both qualify for that role, and aren't as important as some might think. This is Odom's and Kobe's team, and everyone else just needs to fit their role. No need for a top 10 PG like Bibby.

I agree Brankles. Especially with role players stepping up and appearing like they can be depended on. I wouldn't touch the roster unless some GM is willing to make a really dumb move.

It sure is. Kobe isnt healthy but think about it. He shot 8 times and didnt bitch or complain at all during the game. He seems to be willing to let his teammates shine this year.

Regarding Bynum, I need to apologize to Mitch too. I killed him for the pick and wanted Granger (I still like Granger alot) but Bynum has won me over. This kid has great hands (sorry Kwame) and actually likes playing D.
