Re: Pacers cut James "Flight" White
Statistically speaking, he was outperformed by everyone at his position he was competing with for PT. Shooting 32% in 18 minutes per game and only averaging 3.8ppg and 2rpg is what got him cut. He may be an athletic freak of nature, but his stats tell the story why he still isn't on the team. Sounds like he needs to work on his D to make it in the league as well.XBL & PSN: zasbury25Comment

Re: Pacers cut James "Flight" White
Wouldn't be surprised to see Isaiah pick him up as I thought he was going to draft him anyway.
Atheletic slasher/dunker...right up Isaiah's alley.
Wouldn't be shocked.Comment

I cant believe Rawle Marshall is valued over James White. Not a good sign for White, let me tell you.Comment

Re: Pacers cut James "Flight" White
Marshall has had a decent training camp and I think the Pacers like him. He was the leading scorer off the bench during the preseason for the Pacers. Yeah, I know it's just preseason and he probably won't get a lot of minutes during the season but I think he deserved the roster spot he is getting.Comment

Re: Pacers cut James "Flight" White
5 teams I would like to see him sign with (so I can see him play):
Albany Patroons (home-town team) of the CBA
Fort Worth Flyers (current-home team) of the NBDL
and the
Bobcats, Mavs, or 76ers so he can be moved down to the NBDL and play for the Flyers.SAN ANTONIO SPURSComment

Re: Pacers cut James "Flight" White
He'll be picked up by someone.
The Pacers have too strong a roster to give one up for a player whose game relies on aerial moves.
White will have to wait it out to land on a less talented team that needs him to draw attention and keep things exciting during blowouts."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Pacers cut James "Flight" White
Hmm, let me clear up some things....
James White did struggle in the pre-season but he played well enough to make a team, just not this team.....
Rawle Marshall and Josh Powell have been OUTSTANDING........Thats not an understatement.....
Maceo Baston has also played well, as has Oriene Greene.......Greene is the best 1 on 1 defender on the roster and we know the state of the Pacers PG situation.......Tinsley can go down at any time and I'm telling you now, that Greene will step in and be the starter if he does go down and he will be the backup eventually if Tinsley stays healthy....
Keep in mind, Marshall nor Powell were on the team when the Pacers drafted White....In essense Marshall is the Pacers real 2nd round pick....Marshall has avg. double figues and shot 50% from the field and has been playing a lot of minutes.......
The Pacers absolutely robbed the Mavs in that trade, although most didn't see it coming.......
If I had my way, Sarunas would've been cut and White would stay......Daniels can play some point if they need it and Armstrong, Tinsley and Greene are there......Hell, Jermaine Oneal can bring the ball up the court better than Sarunas, lol.......He's just not an NBA PG and I hate that he's still on the team..
White's contract was guaranteed but he made the least out of anyone on the team so that made the decision easier but Carlisle said its the hardest cut he's ever made so its not like White just wasn't good enough......The Pacers just have too many players at that position, even Shawn Williams who will probably be relegated to the D-league.....
There's been rumors though that the Pacers are still trying to make a 2-1 trade of some sort and then they would re-sign White........Comment

Re: Pacers cut James "Flight" White
Spurs sign James White!
November 03, 2006
Spurs sign swingman
The Spurs filled their final roster spot Friday, signing rookie guard James White.
White spent the preseason with Indiana before being cut. He averaged 3.8 points and 2.0 rebounds in eight exhibition games.
A 6-foot-7 swingman who led the University of Cincinnati in scoring last season, White was drafted by Portland with the first pick of the second round then immediately traded to Indiana.
The Spurs had worked out White prior to the draft.

Re: Pacers cut James "Flight" White
Actually this is great news, since the Spurs will probably get a lot of blowouts this season, White might actually play. He can save the dunk contest!Comment
