At least Robinson didn't need 16,873 tries to get it right. Lol.

I cant believe anyone is dissing this thread!! What in the world do you think the NBA is!?!?! Its not longer about the team, but is just one big highlight. Last time i looked, every commercial that pops up about the nba is showing dunks and blocks, not fundmental chest passes and great defensive stances. What we have here is a 5 foot something pg blocking the tallest and best center in the league, how is this not impressive!! I dont see many threads on here about how sound the mavs offense is running lately and how they are really utilizing that new defensive scheme they have implemented. This is the NBA, where glitz and glamour and greed run rampant!! Everyone out there is looking for the bigger money, the bigger deals and the flashier plays. Next time i see a wide open flashy dunk, I will think of this thread and call that player out for being selfish if they end up losing, becuase a traditional one handed layup would have sufficed. Take the NBA for what it has become and where its going; most often a one man show with every fan waiting for the next highlght play. I for one cant stand it, but it is what it is.

It would've been better had they won, but they lost on their own home floor, and the best you can come up for them is this?

Go ahead there Nate... Great job. Too bad you couldn't help the Knicks to a W though.
ESPN turns every sport into a highlight fest. The NBA is just more flashy in nature.

ESPN stopped legitimately covering sports years ago, and instead relies on popular culture, catchy one liners, and music to sell, and present, sports in general. For an example, watch the decine of SportsCenter over the years.

Regarding Nate Robinson and his helping the Knicks to a win.. If there is any player that does help the Knicks towards wins, I would say it's Nate Robinson. He plays with the energy and passion of a college athlete, and is currently one of the most exciting players in the league IMO.

Furthermore, I don't think posting a clip of a block is any different than posting a clip of a LT stiff arm, a diving catch in center field, or an amazing deke and goal in hockey. Self accomplishment sometimes exceeds statistics, and while Michael Jordan put up incredible numbers, he also was one of the most electrifying players in the NBA, and that his prime was far from being considered "recent."

I don't think there are too many people that would get as excited about a box score/standings page being posted as they would a great sports highlight. Teams make statistics, but individuals and players make sports entertaining. Thus, I don't see anything wrong with highlighting and recognizing those players that go above and beyond, excelling above their team on a given day.

If all that matters is the statistics, then why watch sports at all? One should be content to just read the box scores in the paper every morning, yet I suspect when given the choice, most would prefer watching a game instead of just digesting statistics.

              Stats aren't all that matter.

Wins do matter. The block was cool, but its being too overglorified, especially since the Knicks LOST, which some of you seem to not mind as long as you got that highlight.

As I said before, it was already mentioned in another thread here. Talk to me about Nate in the postseason though.

                You shouldn't watch Sportscenter then.

Might have a heart attack if it was nominated for an ESPY.

I kid, but again, you seem to be the one overblowing it a bit. Especially since TMac who you're a fan of is known more for his individual success than his team's success.

It was one play. And a good one at that.

Actually don't watch much sportscenter bigeast.

Im a fan of alot of players, so I don't know what Tmac has to do with it.

I don't start threads about blocks Tmac gets or jumpers he makes. Im not the one overblowing anything here.

All I said was it was a nice block but means absolutely nothing when it results in a loss. It was you saying the Garden was going nuts.

The Knicks losing again and all Knick fans can rejoice about is a block. That's embarrassing.

Its alot of defense played in this thread.

Game winning defense that gets no fanfare.

I know I don't. Makes me wanna vomit if I even try to watch a half hour of it.

The bigger news is that the Knicks lost the game.

And yes, I'm hatin' because Nate stole the dunk contest from Iguodala

                          Are you referring to

The dunk over Bradley? Shutting down Dirk? The 2 scoring titles? The 13 in 35?

You thought that was about him?

You're a fool.... because while you believe that was about him.... he believes

                          It takes "5ive baby!"

No, it was (yet another) foul against Yao that didn't get called.

Local radio guy Charlie Pallilo had a great line about that play:

It was a foul. Even if it had taken place on a playground where it's "no blood = no foul", it was a foul.

                              WTF???

It was a nice play, that obviously a lot of people enjoyed watching. That's it. Nobody is bragging about how great the Knicks are because Nate blocked a shot.

And this isn't some problem with NBA fans. If an outfielder robs someone of a homerun, people want to see that too, doesn't matter who won.

Calm down, it isn't that big of a deal.

Apparently not in the NBA though coog.

See, with a play like that, the refs would never call that as a foul on a teams home floor against a big man.

Thing about that was the guy saying Yao was faking when he was slapped across the face as if he was playing it off.
