really, that's stupid.

and Amare is 20 going on 21.....
I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...

Yes it is stupid. Don't ask me why, but that's why they changed the name to rising stars slam dunk competition.

I feel the same way. I think it's not as successful is because in the 80's & early 90's they let all of the high talent dunkers enter, and compete to show their stuff. Remember Larry Johnson, with his power dunks. It wasn't Dominique's power dunks, but they were exciting, and people enjoyed it. Now guys like Kobe, Vince, and even wack Brent Barry won't enter, or the L won't allow guys like Francis, or R.Davis enter.

Relax guys. I'm sure we'll see some great dunks nonetheless.

But I do think it's a little silly to know that the best dunkers in the game have to watch these young ones to it...

That is exacly why the dunk contest is not what it use to be... They keep making up some supid rules. Like that spin the wheel dunk they made the guys do last year. Why don't they just get rid of the entire contest. Because it looks like they are slowly tying to kill it... The guys in the contest are dead before they even try thier first dunk. The dunk contest is suppose to be about creativity. But how can one be creative when you are given a list of dunks you must do? Then they turn the entire crowd and all viewers against the contestants by showing a bunch of video's of Mike, Spud, and Nique.
Next year I hear that there is 5 foot 10 inch max on contestant height!!!!!

Well Kobe, T-Mac, Garnett, etc. won't be in it because they have nothing to prove as dunkers, and if they screw up, they'll diminish their status. I don't necessarily agree with it, but whatever. Also, Amare can win this contest. I saw last year's high school slam dunk contest and he lost to Carmelo Anthony but had some sick dunks.

Ummm....Amare, at 6'10.......has had the best dunk of the year so far. The guy is a freak. No AS game yet, but I think it should come in time, barring injury.

The guy revived our whole freakin franchise.
