the fact that athletes who aren't pro has always been a long debate, but the rules still stand and none of the "great" college players can break them. i guess i'm just jealous (lol). i could just sling some rock too and you can all be jealous of the money i'm making that you aren't.

Wow. Great analogy. Getting two free jerseys and selling drugs. Way to go.

Re: Just heard on CNBC (Lebron)

I, being a former high school athlete, feel some blame should be put on his coaches, athletic director, and the high school athletic association. Simply because you should not expect an 18 year old to read the rule book himself, the coaches and/or athletic director should take it upon themselves to make sure the student athletes know not only the rules to play the game but also the rules regaurding ineligibility, etc. The HSAA needs to come up with some way to enforce coaches making the players aware of these rules. When I played in high school we (the players) were never informed of any rules outside of the game. I know for a fact some kids used their status on the team to get certain things. For the student to be punished for violating a rule he never knew existed, I think is rediculous. Especially in LeBron's situation, being "the best athlete in high school sports" his coaches, athletic director, etc. need to make sure he knows the rules outside the game.
If he knew the rules then he deserves to be suspended, but from what I have read/viewed he was unaware of the rule.
He will still be the #1 pick, IMO.

He's not just a HS star, that kids from his HS only know about. He has to get that through his head.

He's a "WORLD ICON" A "US ICON" for the future of the NBA.

He's on a whole new platform and he can't or wont have the chance to live a normal life anymore.

His life has changed forever and even though it'll take time to get used to, he better hire somebody other than his mom to help him out.

Please excuse my friend avh00a, he often shoots from the hip. It wasn't the smartest thing to say, but the point remains: LeBron doesn't give a crap about his teammates! He's a great player, but it shows a lot about his character that he can't wait for things just a little longer.

However, I agree that LeBron's temptation has been escelated due to all the publicity. The board should reconsider . . .
