You guys obviously don't know DRE if you think he's gone so far as to create another identity. Do you actually think he cares enough about Kobe to waste his time doing such when he has a job, a wife, and a kid to look after? Especially being a former Mod. It would be the stupidest thing he could ever do.

    Stop baggin' on my boy.

That said, please lock this. PLEASE.

Me and Dre disagree on EVERYTHING kobe-related...but I've gained alot of repect for him as a poster over the years. This "Mamba" jackoff definitely isn't Dre.

Funny though...Kobe fans always get the bad rap.

Get the f@#$% out with that piece of crap article..Vince Carter a defender..Dream less impact than Duncan..oh my God..Jeez

Oh and MJ played in that ''tougher'' league with the Wizards and put up 50 at almost 40. The author bases her opinion on Kobe's 4 game shooting spree and that itself is not credible at all.

The dissapointing thing here is that every thread deteriorates into this.

I posted the topic...and the debate was not so much whether she's right or wrong or wether MJ is better than Kobe...

It was her spouting the line about VC being a superior defender to Joe D as "he's taller".

I mean, that's just incredible...and I find it amazing a basketball writer actually said that.

It's akin to saying "Manute Bol was a superior defender than Hakeem...as he was taller".

          It just defies logic.

Can we leave the name calling out of threads BTW?

            True. Back on topic....

While VC was a horrendous example of defense, I do agree with the gist of what she's saying in that Kobe doesn't have the luxury of having few if any athletic peers like MJ. To me, LeBron, and perhaps KG, are the only players in todays league that come close to MJ's comparative advantage over the his fellow players, and if either had Kobe's/MJ's mental make-up, either guy could dominate the sport.

MJ's defenders, with no zone help behind them, had to respect that quick first step and give him space...his pull-up was rarely contested. Bigger, longer defenders didn't have a prayer of keeping up with him. Combine that with constantly isolating him out to one side or the other, where the only hope of defending him is to send 2 helpers crashing over, leaving the other Bulls only 2 passes to a wide-open shot. He was unguardable, hence the Jordan rules...just beat him up and hopefully he'll get tired. Kobe's offense has a much higher degree of difficulty (which is why I will always contend that MJ's IQ > Kobe's IQ...MJ made it look easy by reading the D and reacting while Kobe makes it look harder by saying F' the D..Imma' take whatever shot I feel like taking), and unlike Mike he doesn't seem to set his perimiter game up off the threat of driving. He's a shooter first, and uses the drive to draw fouls. He's not the finisher MJ was. Watch some old MJ Footage...he would either take you right to the bucket, or jab/pull all game long. Either way, Kobe's ability to do whatever he wants, without a tool like AI's sick quickness, or LeBrons speed/power combo is impressive. Not saying Kobe is a stiff out there, but I could easily name 10 guys with a more impressive physical package.

HMC....regarding your signature, I'd rather go through another rectal exam than see another POST mentioning Kobe and Jordan together.

KDRE would not create another user name for the sake of making a point. That's just not him. I won't even dignify that accusation with a check of the IP's because quite simply - it IS not KDRE.

I'm going to lock this thread up....like almost every other Kobe thread. It's a shame some of you guys can't grow the heck up and converse like adults.
