Dude, dude, dude. There are plenty of players who never got to the Finals till later in their career, yet noone was saying they were overrated because of it. How big is your butt? Cause with all the crap you pull out of it, I'd assume it's HUGE!

There have been players who were MVP's that didn't get there till after they had won MVP's. Look it up and quite trying to be cute.Comment

Re: Sorry, Dirk, you're no MVP
As long as Nash has been on the Suns, you can't blame him for the teams playoff woes. If anything they overachieved last year by getting as far as they did. Look at who they had on that team last year and its amazing they even got to the WCF(Barbosa was no where near as good).Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.Comment

Re: Sorry, Dirk, you're no MVP
there is an interesting double standard going on. 1st off, let me say an understatement that Nash is a great player obviously...but why does Nash get such a free pass in the playoffs? He's 5 years older than Dirk, as well as the 2 time MVP and Dirk has probably had a better career in the playoffs overall than Nash has. Yet, Nash has never really been criticized for any playoff underachieving while Dirk is blasted constantly.
here is a little factoid..Nash leads all active NBA players for most playoff appearances without a finals appearance. and he is the only multiple MVP winner to never make it to the finals. just wondering what the deal is with the double standard and why is Dirk held to a higher standard than a 2 time MVP that is 5 years older?Comment

Re: Sorry, Dirk, you're no MVP
I think one of the primary reasons why Dirk is always blasted is because a lot of people thinks he is overrated. Like for example, he is the leader of DAL yet he is acting like he is a bench player wanting to help any way he can. He is a big guy who doesn't have toughness in him to play against the best big dogs of the NBA like Duncan and Garnett can. Play physical on Dirk and his mojo will dissapear unlike other superstars in the league who can actually play even against physical defense like T-mac, Kobe, Duncan, Garnett and some more I am too tired to type.
go back and make some bacon and eggs!Last edited by ZB9; 05-01-2007, 11:14 PM.Comment

Re: Sorry, Dirk, you're no MVP
How is it his fault? Agaisnt the Spurs we were missing our 3rd best player for most of the series and Spurs were the better team. Last year we were seriously undermanned and had no business making it as far as we did.Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.Comment

Re: Sorry, Dirk, you're no MVP
How exactly has he changed the nba? He's a point guard who can pass and shoot, he's not doing anything that Magic didn't do, except he can't play all 5 positions.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Sorry, Dirk, you're no MVP
Very true, Jerry West and Pistol Pit are the PGs who change the NBA. And also Magic for being the first PG who can play all 5 positions.Comment

Re: Sorry, Dirk, you're no MVP
game 5 postgame - "We got on Dirk's back and he carried us," said Devean George, who knows the feeling after winning titles with Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant on the Los Angeles Lakers. "That's who he is for us. We're going to ride with him. ... We'll build off this. We've been fighting all year. We'll do the same in the next game."Comment
