Kinda funny because the same people who wish the NBA would go back to 80's and 90's b-ball are the same people who can't handle when a player is a little dirty.

Try having two or three guys on the floor who played that way(ala 80's Pistons and 90's Knicks).

they both play physical defense and get under the skin of the offensive guy. i dont have a problem with either

how about elbows that are thrown, didnt see it, but didnt b davis hit somebody with an elbow. sounds like a dirty player trying to hurt someone?

how about stackhouse last yr on shaQ. he had to know that hit could possibly end the career of the big guy. sounds dirty and video looks dirty

a lot of players could be labeld dirty with supporting video evidence depending on which team you want to criticise.

7(3 of them knicks) and 1(i think thats the suspension he got for the bruce lee bowen incident)

I don't see the Suns that much so I don't know about Bell and I don't know why he would be brought up in a thread about Bruce Bowen anyway. Bowen gets criticized because somehow he is always doing something dirty. It's not like he's done something a couple times and he's getting a bad rap, he's constantly doing crazy things yet for whatever reason he isn't punished.

I don't know who he has injured but he has certainly tried to injure as many people as possible. And again, what does Raja Bell have to do with a topic about Bruce Bowen? Bowen has been in the league alot longer than Bell and has earned his reputation as a dirty player.

Bowen is the man. He is dirty, but he doesn't care. You don't like him, he doesn't care. Fact of the matter is he is on a winning team and can play defense. Whether his style is dirty or not, he gets the job done.

bell is a similar player in that he is a physical defender that will mix it up with an opposing offensive player and not give the guy a free pass to the basket. he is irritating to the offensive guy he is defending.

that is his rep just like bowen. plus he has some history of altercations in the league. go watch the youtube of him clotheslining kobe. video looks bad. if bowen did that to kobe, guys would post 50 pages condemning the man to h***

my point is , it speaks volumes on here that people constantly critcise bowen but then are totally silent regarding other similar players like bell.


it makes people appear to be inconsistent with their criticism.


i enjoy watching physical defense, and so i like both players. and like an earlier poster said, what they do now on defense is light weight compared to what people consider the golden years of nba ball. play was much more physical with bad boys, nyk of past years

Just to add to your point, the most important thing is, the NBA hasn't stepped in with fines and suspensions to curtail this type of behavior. Bowen is only doing what he can get away with. If he got suspended for kneeing Steve Nash below the belt, please believe he will make sure not to continue doing it. Until then.........

You guys want to see how intentional Bruce Bowen's actions are? Why don't you click on that link LS posted and look through the other videos that pop up after and on the side.

Unbelievable how some of you can even DEFEND him. He's injured QUITE A FEW people, and the videos prove it.
