Terry is one of the most thuggish players in the NBA?

He may be a bit of a punk, but there are A LOT of thugs in the NBA. Compare Terry to

    Stephen Jackson:

    Charles Oakley:

    Allen Iverson:

Oh yeah... because Dallas didn't get past the 1st round... so no-one honestly cares. Stop hating on winning players.

Plus, how can you NOT like him? He's a strong advocate against childhood obesity and sets up programs to fight it.

Less fat kids = Greater world (sorry to put it so bluntly).

      He should be honored.
Whether you like it or not, Bowen has been in the league for a long time and has built a reputation among players and fans as a dirty player. I'm sure if he wasn't on the Spurs and was trying to kick Tim Duncan's achilles, you wouldn't be defending him.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I defend Raja Bell, who is not near the defender Bowen is, and has made just as many blatant dirty plays as Bowen. I defend great defenders who don't act like ****s off the court, so yes, I would still defend Bowen.

bowen put his foot on or near Deron Williams' today in the 2nd half, it looked like purposely set his foot there and could've twisted William's ankles. Now this happened too often, and why is it always Bowen? Or do lots of other players do this same thing? Or is it just a bad habit Bowen developed and he is honestly not trying to injure anyone?

I don't think he's honestly trying to kill anyone out there, he just knows what he can get away with, and it proves to be great defense day in and day out.

I don't think he's trying to kill anyone either but hurt them, yes. Just because you get away with it doesn't mean its right. I just don't see how some people can defend him.

I can defend him, because he's one of the best defenders of the past decade. Not to mention, he plays for my favorite team, and he hasn't shown signs of being an *******.

Good defender? Check. Plays for your favorite team? Check. *******? Check. I think kicking people in the face and trying to hurt people qualifies him.

Bruce Bowen is a good defender. I can't stand Ginobili because he flops alot and gets those gay calls too.

I don't think Bowen is trying to intentionally injure people. And if he is, he isn't doing a good job at it.

Well he's certainly trying to do something by kicking people all the time.

                          Bump for this...

I knew the story of Bowen well before this was put up, but it's a nice reminder that he is truly an inspirational story.

I love how people cry and moan about Bruce's "dirty" playing style, 'cause he's really put alot people on the shelf. He's only had two questionable instances; 1) when he kicked Ray Allen in the back while they were both on the ground, and 2) when he unintentionally kicked Wally in the face. People take four or five questionable instances and a bunch of crybaby players (Ray Allen, Vince Carter, Amare Stoudemire and Steve Francis) and one hypocrite coach (Isiah Thomas) that whine about his style of play, and now fans behave like he's the anti-christ of the NBA.

I guess people don't realize it's just that those players are trying to work popular opinion and the referees to their favor. Michael Finley was once one of those "advocates" that Bruce is a "dirty" player, but now he's with the Spurs trying to win a championship. I guess that winning trumps crying about Bruce's "dirty" style of defense, huh?

Side note: I wouldn't want to hang out with a guy that constantly kicks my *** either, but plenty of those other USA players could learn about playing defense (except Shane Battier).

You do realize we can watch the games, right? It would be different if people just heard about this but he's been in the league for years and all you have to do is watch him play to see that his reputation is deserved.
