Robert Horry is a bonafide HOFer. Stop the damn hate because he knocked your favorite Point Guard into the fetal position.

The man has done everything a playoff contender needs to win a title. Something a HOF lock (Karl Malone) couldn't do when he piggybacked on a Finals contender.

The man is no Stacey King or Cliff Levingston.

His teams simply would not have moved on in the crucial moments if not for him.

I don't wanna hear he chose teams wisely. Teams knew he could hit the big shot and didn't shy away from it in the clutch (see HOF-potential candidates Kevin Garnett, LeBroom James, Jason Kidd, TMac...lol, etc.).

Big Game James - #42 got that name because he knew when it was time to man up and deliver.

Big Shot Bob - same deal.

7 f'in rings and didn't piggyback NONE of them (although his least role was this year). The man is perennial playoffs.

You're comparing a guy who was a starter for most of his career, who was a consensus ROTY AND scored 36 points in an NBA Finals game to Robert Horry?

Ok you lost all credibility right there man.

If your anyone in the spurs organization and you had a choice who would you take on your team nextyear 07-08 Horry or MJ?

Even though MJ is far-gone I still take MJ at any point then Horry.

Couple things wrong with this post..

                          1. The championship is NOT won in the first 82 games. If it were, the Suns and Mavs would have rings and the Spurs and Pistons wouldn't.

                          2. Horry was the 11th pick in the draft. Its not like he got lucky by getting on with the Rockets. And he won 2 rings with the team that drafted him and was one helluva contributer to them in the mid 90s. So he didnt "sit and go along for the ride". I seriously doubt the Spurs and Lakers want/wanted a player who just sits around and goes along for the ride.

This is ridiculous. I'm having to defend a former top 13 pick with 7 rings and that has EARNED a nickname for clutch ability.

Except you're not even defending him because he's a former top 13 pick with 7 rings that has earned a nickname for clutch ability. You're defending him because of where he went to college.

The true question here is... who is better? Robert Horry or Phil Jackson? Both seemed to have had lots of luck with the teams they were assigned... I'm sure there are tons of posters out there that would play down Horry's achievement but only have good things to say about the Zen Master. They are one in the same.
