WallyHopp- I can tell your not from around this area. If paytons plays tommorow, they will cheer him like no one has ever seen. Right now virtually every Sonics fan wants to kill Wally Walker or whoever made this trade come to pass. If Payton is annouced or plays he will see the biggest ovation of any player in the NBA this year, just wait.

Nope, the biggest ovations have been for MJ, all year long, in every arena. This, being his last year.

I'm not from the Northwestern area. I've just read a few books about GP's attitude, off and on the court. But that was many years ago.

I just thought now that he's in a new uniform, the people that hate him can now boo for a valid reason. He's on the opposing team.

He won't get booed. Payton is beloved in the northwest. Payton and Mason were the two most popular players on the team.

Edit: And I also think he'll get a bigger ovation than Jordan. This is assuming the pissed Seattle fans even show up to the game. Maybe Jordan will get a bigger one in his final game, but Jordan doesn't really have the same connection to any city like Payton has with Seattle. At least, not anymore.

I think there be many cheers, but with a few boos. I think it woul have been different if they were to play.

Just saw a commercial on ESPN that said, "Bucks and Sonics tonight, see Ray Allen and Gary Payton switch jersey's".
