more importantly...Sam Cassell looked for the pass before the shot with 8 ast's...we play like this we should be pretty dangerous come playoff time. -

Cassell and Payton won the game tonight over Portland, give it a few games, but the Bucks are going to be DANGEROUS. Payton had 22 and 9, and played a lot tonight at the 2.

Good to see you guys chaning your views already.
I said it on the day, that it was one of the great trade days...because it took a franchise that may not have even made the play offs and made it a team that may well make the finals. That's as good as trade days can get.
What was impressive tonight was:
1. They had no right to win in Portland. That was a HUGE ask.
And yet they won.
2. GP 9 assists, Sammy 8.
Can anyone recall the last time two guards got that many assists TOGETHER?
Who do you guard? Both can score 1 0n 1...so who do leave open when you double the ball handler?
The possibilities are really exciting from a basketball purists point of view. It just makes the EC so much more exciting.
BTW See the Gloves D on Anderson at the end? If that was Allen, he'd of driven right past and scored. GP on Reggie, Kidd etc come play off time is going to be freakin excitingComment

Too bad GP is out of there as soon as their season ends. Tough luck Milwaukee fans. You know Desmond Mason is no Ray Allen." I look at him and it's getting to the point where it's just scaring me. He looks younger but he doesn't carry himself in a younger manner. He's impressive, and I'm glad we drafted him. "

Bucks are the only team who can offer him the MAX who could contend apart from SA (who won't be calling)
Given the obvious dislike he has for the Sonics owner, I think a max offer would likely get him to re-sign with them.
Webber wasn't go to stay in Sac and Kidd wasn't going to stay in Jersey (may still not) but success and big $ has a way of changing guys minds...
Ediit: just read this...
Payton did not rule out re-signing with the Bucks -- if the team makes a playoff run.
"I can be comfortable anywhere. As long as I'm with my wife and kids, I'm good,'' he said. "If Milwaukee goes to the conference finals, you have to look at that as a possibility, as a big possibility, to come back. I'm not going to miss a chance to win a championship.''

Re: Payton = Instant Impact In Milwaukee
what do u expect payton to say? "nah, i dont think ill resign with them"???? no. ofcoarse he is gonna say that.
Funny how the Bucks, about this time last year, were Eastern Conference favorites, until it alll blew up. Its the same team except now its Mason, Payton and Kukoc, instead of Allen and Robinson. Could this team blow up again? Sure. Do i expect it? Nah. They should compete with Hornets, Pacers, Pistons, and Nets for the East.Comment
