During the game last night against the Bucks, actually the last play, while someone was shooting a free throw, Coach Karl had some players around him and they were discussing the inbounds play. There was very little time left with the Bucks down by 3. KG, just stood right next to them and listened to the whole thing. He even stuck his head in to get a better look. THen the play started, the Bucks tried to inbound, and KG stole it, knowing where it would go. Great stuff.

Ya, KG is it IMO. If he can keep his numbers up, and keep the TWolves in the top 5, he should get it. Unless there are surges by other players out there.

USAToday.com has a bunch of articles out today about MVP and race for titles and things like that. Here are some of them, they're short and pretty good reads.

                      Battle for Supremacy

                          Re: All MVP Talk

IMO, it`s a two-man race between Garnett and McGrady.

My MVP vote would go to Tracy McGrady only on one condition- if the Magic maintain a .500 W/L record. It think it`s irrelevant if the Magic make the playoffs in this case because the 8th seed in the East can still qualify for the playoffs with a sub-.500 record. The Magic must stay at or above .500. (It`s sort of the A-Rod rule IMO).

Strictly based on stats, McGrady is Most Valuable among to his team. Take away Grant Hill`s stats because he basically hasn`t been there. Also, take away Drew Gooden and Giricek`s stats because they just joined the Magic and McGrady is averaging 20 PPG more than Orlando`s second leading scorer (31PPG vs. Pat Garrity`s 11PPG). He is also leading the Magic in RPG and APG as well as leading the entire league in PPG.

The reason that I would give it to Garnett is because he`s leading his team in a much tougher conference. KG has MUCH MORE help than McGrady (Scerbiak (sp), Hudson and Nesterovic are all averaging 11+PPG). KG is posting gaudy numbers night in and night out in all categories while holding down the 4th seed in the West.

I would be happy either way with McGrady or KG winning the MVP. But again, my vote would go to T-Mac as the Most Valuable to his team.

                          peace
