How bout if KG wasnt on the Wolves? Same thing. Or TD on the Spurs, AI on the 6ers. You get the point. Every team has their superstar that they can't do without. It's not the MVP of your team, it's the MVP of the L.

KG plays in the super competitive west, where large men rule. That's why there is the race between TD and KG. IMHO, the Spurs have the more talented team, so that's why my vote goes to KG. He keeps them a top 5 team in the west, and puts up crazy numbers.

TMac is a great talent, and will get votes, but his team is pretty low in the east. They aren't the leastern conference they were last year, but a lot easier than playing in the west. Granted, he doesn't have a soild team around him, but still. That has to be taken into consideration. But like I said in earlier posts, if he gets them in the playoffs, and into a good seeding, then that will mean a lot.

Allen Iverson and T-Mac are fine players; however, they are both NOT 7 feet tall and 260 plus pounds. Put Duncan on the Sixers or Magics WITHOUT Iverson or T-Mac and they would be a contender for the title. Because of Duncan's size and low post skills, he instantly makes the Spurs or ANY other team a contender for the title. Do you honestly think with Duncan's size and low post skills that the Magics would be at or below .500? Think guys! Duncan is playing with Tony Parker, Malik Rose, Bruce Bowens. None of these guys can create their own shot. They depend on the BIG MAN lost post skills to create shot opportunities for them. Like all great big men before Duncan, they will always give their respective teams 50 plus wins a season, and if you throw in a good decent backcourt player in spells CHAMPIONSHIPS! (every time Tony Parker scores 20 points for the Spurs they never lose, case close) Watch the Sacs game on Saturday and learn a thing or two about what a lost post threat does to the opposing teams.

                    Re: All MVP Talk

Right now there are 5 clear front runners for MVP IMO
                    1. Tim Duncan
                    2. Kobe
                    3. KG
                    4. T- Mac
                    5. J Kidd

Of the five i personally believe Kg and T-mac make the most valuable contributions to there respective teams. However, any one of those five could be chosen and i feel that the award would be fitting which is a clear indication of just how close the race for MVP is this year. It's a great year to be a fan of the nba. I this game.

<font color="skyblue"> I think it's stupid for people to say this &amp; that player means more to his team than this or that player. They all mean a great deal to their respective teams you goat nuts!
Kobe will be hurt b/c he plays with Shaq, so in his case you can say he doesn't mean as much to his team as the other MVP candidates mean to their teams, b/c they don't play along side an MVP candidate (Shaq, when healthy) like Kobe does.
But if Kobe keeps up the scoring streak he was on during that 12 game stretch &amp; the Fakerz some how were to reach the #2 or #1 spot atop the Western Conf, then Kobe will definitely get the MVP, b/c you don't win MVP based on what you did during a 12 game streak.
That's why to me the obvious choices are the following..
                            <ul type="square">[*]1) Duncan [*]2) KG [*]3) Tmac [*]4) Kidd[*]5) Kobe [*]6) Ben Wallace

That's based on the teams record &amp; what each means to their team. Webber would have been up their, but due to his injury, that knocked him out of the race. Hard to select anyone from Dal b/c every night 1 of their big 3 scorers is coming thru, &amp; Wallace is there b/c you can't ignore the fact that his team is among the top in the East &amp; he is clearly their MVP, but a dark horse to win the award. [/list]

i gotta go with RaferAlston. None of you on this site know who he is but he has improved the Raptors dramaticly and should be mentioned.

                                MVP RACE:
                                1. Rafer
                                2. Duncan
                                3. Garrnet
                                4. Kobe
                                5. Big Ben Wallace There no where with out him!!

Come on give me your beefs and I will take them in stride
