There you guys go again with the crazy talk. Mike James gives them scoring off of the bench. Rafer takes care of the ball much better, which is what they need with the starting lineup. Why would you start Mike James and have him take shot attempts away from Yao and McGrady? Especially when Rafer is one of the best in the league in taking care of the ball? Come on, think. I realize Rafer's shooting can be grating, but think like a coach for a moment. Would you rather start a guy who's going to run your offense or a guy who's going to take shots from Yao and McGrady?

Adelman isn't going to change his PG rotation unless Rafer does something to give the job up.

I know you're joking, but seriously, he's practically got a 4:1 assist to turnover ratio. That is awesome from your starting PG, especially with two superstars like Tmac and Yao. They give you great possessions and really the only thing that can mess that up is turning the ball over, or not getting them the ball, neither of which is a problem with Skip.

all thats true, I just cant name a championship team that used the "game managing point gaurd\ scoring PG off the bench system"

Ive always had this theory that without a good PG, youll eventually go under....which is why i have doubts about the celtics despite all thier talent...(unless rondo turns out)

who's our last couple championship PG's?
          T.P
          J. Will
          D. Fisher
          Billups
          all scorers.......see what I mean?

LOL. Fisher is a game manager, and don't forget Avery Johnson with the 99 Spurs, and all of the Bulls PGs. In fact, I wouldn't call Payton and Williams "scorers" at the stage in their respective careers they were in when the Heat won either. JWill only averaged 9.3 at the time. Skip averaged 10.9 in the playoffs last year.

LOL nothing like a good b-ball discussion in the morning.
Fisher may have had the ability to game manage, but he was def a scorer.....

              tell me this
Alston has the ability to hit those clutch 3's and make foul inducing drives that Fisher did all throughout the finals?
or take over a Game 6 like J-Will did?

I just dont trust him in that aspect

              your right about avery.....
but Paxson,B.J Armstrong and Kerr were def both scorers....
despite numbers....you can remember thier signifigant shots... cant say you dont

They weren't scorers, they were just guys that could hit the open shot. Tony Parker is a scorer. Steve Nash is a scorer. Jason Terry. Chauncy Billups. Rafer is a better passer than those Bulls players, and he'll find Battier or Mike James(Adelman plays that lineup) and Rafer has hit big shots in the playoffs before. I don't think he's a liability the way you're making him out to be, and I definitely wouldn't take James or Francis over him to start.

**** Francis. I still say he threw that game against Ron Artest and St.Johns way back when in the Ncaa Tournament playing for Maryland. They said dude was laughing at the end of the game talking bout how he just wanted to get to the NBA anyway. Bastard.

                        Cuttino Mobley never left.

He started for the first time this season, making his first 10 shots. He scored 24 points in the first half and finished with 33. He hit a fadeaway jump shot that helped seal the game with 1 minute 20 seconds left.

"I told the refs in the beginning of the game that I'm going back to my old aggressive self," Mobley said while soaking his legs in ice. "That is the difference for me this year.

"They needed it, but we needed it too. We ain't got nothing to do with their [0-4]. No disrespect to them. They've got some good players. But it's every man for himself. They wouldn't give us no pity."

Mike James is off the bench to be a spark, like Ginobili is for San Antonio.

Don't let stats skew you about Rafer. He's hated in HOU. The only reason he is in the lineup now is because he brings the ball to halfcourt and passes to Tmac oooohhh.

Skip in last years playoffs were less than stellar. Deron Williams chewed him up in 15 different ways, and he always gets burned by other pg's... ala Jason Terry.

It's not about points, which he sucks at producing as well. The only reason he's there now is because they can't trade him.

Skips career has been in mediocrity. He had his chances and for the most part he's really a backup.

Steve hasn't played yet, so we don't know that.

Mike James was brought in for something other than passing the ball, because the team needed more players who could create their own shot than just Tmac and Yao.

Just because Rafer is starting doesn't mean he's good. Smush Parker started for LA last year and probably had a better season than Rafer until he started pouting.
