I agree I watch Houston a lot (because i got Yao on my fantasy team) but often times they don't make enough attempts in getting him the ball!! Its too much one on one by Steve and Catnino(sp) Plus Yao probably hit the wall he's been playing all year around!!!

It's real early in his career for a call like this but IMO, he will go down as one of the all time greatest centers to ever play the game. He has ALL the skills and no doubt when he get's an offseason the Rockets will add some muscle to him.

He also is still getting used to the American style of play. You see guy's like Caron Butler and Stoudemire who dunk at every opportunity yet Ming seems to be unsure of what to do when he gets real close to the basket. He just needs to go up strong IMMEDIATLY (no hanging around) and just stuff it on some poor defender.

Once he gets more aggresive and Houston realise that Stevie Franchise is perhaps not their franchise player then Ming will become a top 5 player in the league.

Yao will be a great player if he stays healthy. He just needs more rest and more touches in the post. The Rockets offense is horrible for him. Critic- bad call, trust me.

Not impressive? What more do you want him to do, hes only a rookie. I think hes very impressive for a 7-5 footer. He got all the necessary skills...he just need to improve upon them and get stronger. Just b/c he had some bad games(at Wizard) don't mean hes unimpressive. Rookies makes mistake and learn from them and thats what makes player great.

Re: I am sorry, but Yao doesn\'t impress me...

Rik Smits might be a good comparison. He'll be better than Smits I think though. He won't dominate. he's not quick and mobile enough, and I don't think he'll gain that. Yao will gain intelligence, which help him a ton though.

The biggest thing Yao needs is conditioning. Right now he's got NONE. He looks like he's winded after about 2 minutes. He just looks like he hasn't played this much. So next year will be a big test.

I don't see him being as good as Ewing or Olajuwon, or O'Neal. Maybe a second tier center. But it today's age of the centerless NBA, Yao may be a force.

It's too early to tell, but he doesn't look that good yet. I will say, he looks good for a rookie, but I don't know how much growth he's got.

                          What the hell....

he`s a rookie from another country who is facing the majority of these teams and players for the first time in his life.

Does Kwame Brown impress you??? Does Kwame Brown dominate???

                          Where are those questions?

Let Yao learn the game first before you criticize him. He has done quite well for the situation that was handed to him.

Ask Shaq if Yao won`t dominate. Shaq got his ball pieced 3 times in a damn row. All 300+ pounds of him. Let Yao put on some more weight-- get an offseason conditioning program. Let him get an offseason for what it matters. He hasn`t had one. He probably hit the wall back in December.

People think "dominate" means how Shaq bulldozes over people in the lane. NO, Yao will never be capable of that. But can Shaq hit a shot outside of 10 feet??? Can Shaq hit a free throw with consistency.

Yao is gonna put up some SCARY stat lines when he gets in his prime. SCARY. I can honestly see him averaging like 7 blocks a game easily when he learns team defense.

                          Yao will be fine.

Will Yao be able to get a good weight training program going? If I remember correctly, China basically owns him and is going to make him come to China and play for them.
