Do U fire Doc if the C's don't win it all?

If the Celtics stay healthy shouldn't anything less than a title be considered a terrible let down? The East is Detroit & Boston. That's it. I can't see them getting any team in the East to push them to 6 games before the Conference Finals.

Now look @ the West. If the season ended today.....

    1. Spurs
    2. Suns
    3. Hornets
    4. Nuggets
    5. Mavs
    6. Lakers
    7. Blazers
    8. Warriors

That's GS as an 8th seed, having won 19 of their last 28. Portland as a 7 after winning 16 of their last 17. Houston & Utah in the lottery. San Antonio might be able to make quick work of GS. But outside of that matchup & from then on, you're looking at grueling 6-7 game series from then on. The west champion is going to be worn out.

Meanwhile, the east winner is going to be cruising. And I fully expect Flip Saunders to blow it once again in the post season.

To me, Boston has got to win it this season.

No, i'd fire him because he's not a good coach.

No. Defeating the Spurs is never easy.

I don't think he's that bad. Look @ their 3 losses. They barely lost. Then when they played those teams again, they won by about 10. It shows they are learning.

They had better get to the ECF's. A question that might help answer the original, how many more title contending years are in the Big Three? I'm gonna venture and say 3-4 more years. If that's the case, no way do you fire Doc after this year if he gets to the ECF's.

I wouldn't want them to bring in an entire new philosophy, style, etc. Give him next year, but next year he had better battle it out in the Finals at the very least.

The only one of our losses that I would blame Doc for was the game against Detroit, but you're never too sure whether it was Pierce who was thinking to shoot, as opposed to Doc telling him what to do. The Pistons should have never had that last possession. You could argue bad coaching, but you could also argue Pierce was just being dumb.

I'd fire Glenn Rivers before he has the chance to lose the Finals. I have no respect for him as a coach, he does nothing to make his team better. He just sits with a suit on the sideline and barks at the ref.

You know what he said, because he's not a tactician.

"Give Pierce the ball and move out of the way"

That's Doc's version of a strategy, and no im not joking.

Honestly... I hve no issue with that. Pierce has been Boston's ace for years now. Giving him the ball to try and win the game is a sign of respect, that IMO, he has earned in his time in Boston.

Pierce was too afraid to drive the baseline if I remember correctly, instead he folded. It happens. These past few games, dude has been going to the basket like he owns the damn thing.

You guys kill me with the Doc Rivers hate. Their are plenty of bad coaches in this league to fire on BUT for some reason Doc is still a primary target. EVEN WITH THE BEST RECORD IN THE LEAGUE?

I don't know what Doc did to you BUT it must have been real bad.

I'm sure its nice to have 3 stars to cover your deficiencies. Having a dominant big man does that.

This is the same guy who lost 18 games in a row....TWICE with two different teams.

Now all of a sudden it's okay? It's just the truth, he's a motivational coach, and once he runs out of the rah rah speeches, he can't deal with a good X's and O's coach.

Pierce should be, no Doc should be thanking God that KG is wearing green because he's deflecting alot of Doc's poor strategy.

FYI, get such and such the ball and get out of the way , again is never a good thing unless you have a dominant big man to cover up for you.

Other than that, Doc is not a good coach.
