If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :) -

Yep. Artest also gives him fits with ball denial. He's strong enough to muscle LeBron around off-ball. I hate when that guy comes to town, cuz we don't have a PG who can make anything easy for James. When Bron gets it though, he can't be defended him one on one now that he has a decent J. To be honest though, there are very few, if any perimter stars that could be shut down with a completely open floor without being mugged anyway. Manu, Joe Johnson, Ray Ray...even the best defenders couldn't stop any of those dudes 1-on-1. You better just hope they miss.
Shaq vs. AI wouldn't be a contest unless Shaq could have someone inbound it into the post. If Shaq had to take it out up top, theres no way he could put the ball on the deck and or hold off AI from getting around him or deflecting the ball. Your asking Aristotle to get from the top of the arc all the way down to his shooting area...right under the basket...without getting it poked by an elite steals guy? Impossible.
And 'bows wouldn't stop AI, prolly the toughest lil dude in the league.Last edited by HMcCoy; 02-19-2008, 12:13 AM.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

Melo is strong as hell too. Watching him play, you see how strong this dude is. He's at his best when he is down low, and when you see him play, he just overpowers most of his defenders which is why he scores so much down there. I have seen so many times where he just lowers his shoulder or back down his defender so quickly on his way to a lay in.
I just wouldn't think that he plays good enough defense to beat a few other guys 1 on 1.
But, Melo is strong as hell. No doubt.Comment

on the flip side of that, Wades a beast physically but he doesnt really use it ..he relys more on his speed, shiftyness....and self inflicted falls lol
James and Artest are straight up brute though...Comment

I think the people who have the greatest combination of speed/quickness/strength/skill would reign supreme in this
Names that come to mind
Melo
Bron
Artest
Paul Pierce
Caron Butler
I think those TYPES of players (strong wings) have the best shots of winning it all.Concrete evidence/videos pleaseComment

All he has to do is shield the ball away from A.I. whenver he goes for the steal. It isn't that hard to do. Iverson would have a lot of trouble getting around Shaq's huge frame and long arms.Comment

What?
Ever watched those 1-on-1 tourneys? By the end of the game, the bruiser usually pulls through. And that comes from constant hits, scrapes, bows, etc.
Don't think LBJ would finger rolls his way to a victory.Comment

If Dwight played Big Shaq; how would he score on a consistent basis? Im sure his jumpshot is decent in a 1-on-1 situation in an empty gym so he might be able to beat Shaq THAT way.
But I wouldn't pick anyone of either spectrum (small fast or big strong) to win it all.Concrete evidence/videos pleaseComment

Melo is the ultimate in economy of motion, though. Out of all the NBA stars he's a guy that IMO doesn't need to be in great shape. If anybody misses old school basketball, they should be in LOVE with Melo's game...youngin is as smooth as any player I've ever seen. Everything he gets in the post or high post he makes look easy. Even his dunks are efficient little punch outs. He can use his body well, he's smart...Melo is pure baller. if he could defend, he'd be in the convo for top 2-3 players in the league, IMO.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

LOL, seconded.
Also on the Shaq could shield AI thing...gree to disagree. I bet Dirk, ten times the ball handler Shaq ever was, wishes he could have shielded off Baron Davis in the playoffs last year. Dude couldn't take two steps without getting stripped or having to pick up the dribble. If it was that easy, Shaq wouldn't have to park himself under the hoop on every possession. I think you overrate Shaqs ability as a dribbler on the perimeter by a real huge margin, bro.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

Yea I don't underestimate AI when it comes to anything. Someone THAT damn quick with arms THAT damn long with lung THAT damn elastic; there is NO telling what he would do in a matchup with Big Shaq.Concrete evidence/videos pleaseComment
