First of all, allow the city of Seattle to keep the name SuperSonics, the colors, the logo, uniforms, etc. Just like the NFL did with Cleveland and the Browns. Secondly, take the L.A. Clippers and completly erase any knowledge of their team history. I'm talking the name, colors, uniforms, logo the whole nine-yards. Finally, move what was the L.A. Clippers to Seattle and transfer all of the Sonics name, history, logo, colors, etc. to them. It would almost be as if the Sonics never left town. And as cheep as Donald Sterling (the Clippers owner) is I'm sure he would not mind playing in Key Arena. So you folks up in Seattle wouldn't have to worry about him demanding a new arena. Remember the Clippers played at the L.A. Sports arena(which from what I heard was as old as Moses) before moving into Staples Center with the Lakers.
And lets be honest, the Clippers have a horrible history. I mean the team has been around since 1970 when it was called the Buffalo Braves, then moved to San Diego to become the Clippers, and finally to L.A. Out of those 38 years they have only made the playoffs 7 times with the last being 2006. And it seem like eveytime we think they are getting ready to change for the better. They go back to being the same old Clippers. So who would miss them? And I'm sure the few Clippers fans that are out there would become Lakers fans or a fan of some other team. But the Sonics have a great history in basketball hotbed.
So what is your opinion on my idea?
