Tonight's game should be very good. But I a circling the 28th against San Antonio to see where we are right now as a team. I'm thinking the happiest player on the tem is Damp. He will finally get the ball in the right spots. We only need 10 and 10 from him.

i agree.

it will certainly be an interesting second half of the season. Im so glad that the Mavs gave themselves this jolt. The status quo wasnt working imo.

they were able to keep their best 4 players and added a perennial all star HOF true point guard. Props to the mavs on making this move, even if it is a short term move.

Pretty much word-for-word with my last post.

As far as tonight's game, it will be cool but you won't see everything this offense will be capable of by season's end. There will probably be some passes coming at Howard and Dirk that they weren't quite expecting, although I'm sure they worked on all of that during practice yesterday and will during shoot around tonight.

But, the Maverick/Kidd haters will probably look at them not being too polished tonight and say stuff to the effect of "Joooz were all wrongz -- kidd and the mavricks ssuukkks -- what a horribul trayd".

Actually, maybe I'm thinking of the gamefaqs board. But there will be haters that will look at tonight's game a little too harshly. Tonight will be alright (and I will still be watching) and then the next couple of games will be okay, but I'm actually not looking at the game vs. the Spurs on the 28th. I'm looking at Monday, the 25th when he makes his AAC debut as a Mav. THAT will be the game to watch, and could quite possibly set the tone for Thursday's game vs. San Antonio. I'll have to DVR the SA game, though because I will actually be at the AAC that night watching my Stars play the Blackhawks. I'll be going to bed WAY late that night.

Still think even with this trade Dallas is the 4th best team in the west. Dirk doesn't really scare anyone like he did last year and Josh Howard and Kidd are nice but the Lakers, Suns, and Spurs are still ahead of the Mavs in terms of being able to match up with them. Also I think the Hornets could be considered better than the Mavs although questions of experience remain. Paul, Peja, David West, Tyson Chandler is a team that works really well together, especially in terms of inside-out balance.

If Kim Jong-il were signed to the Mavs, ZB9 would defend him too.
