By the way, who would the Rockets have to trade for Ron Artest? I'm not understanding who the Kings would take in return for Ron.

More like clearing space for an offseason signing or trade to get them over the hump. The Rockets basically admitted they have no chance to do anything serious this year so they're already getting ready for next season (but, hey, hopefully they can at least manage to win one playoff series).

This move is nothing but salary dump, and that was the reasons stated.

How awful can one owner be about lux tax money.

So the Rockets are going to move one head case (Bonzi) to bring in another (Artest)? Outstanding. This trade is essentially (personnell wise) Mike James for Bobby Jackson. I would rather have Jackson because he has the same offensive capabilities as James, and he plays defense. Plus he has more playoff experience.

lol thats the truth. It's a trend thats been developing for a while. Barkley and Pippen started it and i dont remember them making a good trade since.

Ask Jerry Reinsdorf and John Paxson. It was a rumor that the reason why the Bulls didn't trade for Gasol was because of the luxury tax. I wouldn't put it past them to do that.

You know the Bulls would go over the cap to win though.

The Rockets traded one of their strongest players to a division rival while trying to get in the playoffs... just to save money.

They should've kept Rudy Gay if the case wasn't to win now because the elite in the West are stacking.

It goes like this

Dallas - Jason Kidd

San Antonio - Kurt Thomas

Los Angeles - Pau Gasol

Phoenix - Shaq

Houston - Bobby 50 games a year Jackson.

Are you sure about that? Your probably refering to the 90's Bulls. BUT the current Bulls won't even include Luol Deng in a trade package to get a legit superstar.

I'm pretty sure they did this to make room for a big offseason signing or a Artest trade right before the deadline (Which I haven't seen or heard anything.)

I'm not sold on the headcase part of it. The guy lost his cool after Ben Wallace provoked him, pursued a Rap career during the season once...but as of lately he's been quiet. I think the Patriots proved that sometimes guys get their head on straight and I htink Ron just wants to win right now.

With that said, I'm going to wait and see. Sometimes you have to know when to hold em and fold em and if the Rockets did this to make room to sign a big Free Agent then in the long run it was a good move, since they were most likely NOT going to win with Bonzi and Mike James anyhow this year, might as well make a move for next year if it comes up.
