Attendance is not the lone measuring stick of success though. Teams make huge profits on television as well. Point is, Oklahoma City is too small and in the long run does have the potential of Seattle. If the new Sonics ownership was not from Oklahoma City, they would not be moving a team there. They are homers but I suppose I might do the same if I were them.

LA lost the Raiders and Rams because the city couldn't get an NFL quality stadium built and no team will return until they do. That is just political.

Tampa is too close to Orlando to support another NBA franchise.

DC has a team now so I'm not sure how that is relevant. Charlotte could be good for baseball but baseball does not really have any markets small enough to warrant moving at this time and they aren't ready for a new franchise. Since baseball has doubled up in many big markets such as LA, SF Bay, New York and Chicago, they've been able to avoid much smaller cities.

YES, Norfolk, VA was in the running for the Hornets but that flaked.

It'd be nice to see Norfolk or Va beach get a team.
Maybe the Neptunes, Timbaland and Missy get together and buy a team.

THANK YOU!! We have a cult-like following here towards college basketball, a brand new, beautiful arena, and tons of fans. I might actually care about the NBA if I had a hometeam I could root for. I mean Oklahoma City getting one first? Sure the Hornets were successful there, but they would've been here too. It just doesn't make sense.
