I've heard if Lakers, Hornets, Rockets finish 57-25, the order would be:

    Lakers
    Hornets
    Rockets

Hornets own tie break over Rockets, Lakers own tie break over Hornets.

BUT! If Lakers and Rockets meet, Rockets would have home court.

I could be wrong, but we'll see.

yup.... there are no good matchups in the first round... any team you play has the potential to beat you......

And LOL at Van Gundy suggesting "we should just let the Celtics and Pistons go best out of 21". Great stuff, somebody had to say it. [Although I think Cleveland has an outside shot].

but if the rox and lakers both have the same record don't the rox own the tie break?

From what I've heard, the Lakers can wrap up the #1 seed with a win over Sacramento on Tuesday.

It has to do something with Division winners or something.. but I would agree that it would make sense for the Rockets to own the #1 seed since they own a tiebreak..

Basically I understood it like the Rox can't be #1 seed if they're not even their division winner. They have tough roadies at Denver tonight and at Utah tomorrow. So we'll see.

Me too. It's super confusing though.

yea they do which is why they would have home court if they played... the thing is NO has tiebreaker over the Rox so NO would win the division.... Lakers own the tiebreaker over NO so they would be 1 seed, with NO at 2 and Rox at 3 cus of tiebreaker.....yea very confusing....

Isn't because the Lakers have the best conference record or the best division record among those three teams.

Houston won the season series I think. Someone might want to check on that.

Rockets beat Lakers 2-1 this year.

Lakers have clinched at least #2 seed. They will officially either play the Mavs, Nuggets or Warriors.

I guess I'd want Denver if I was a Lakers fan but none of those will be an easy match up, imo.

IMO it will be the Nuggets.. I think the Nuggs will clinch the 8th, and the Lakers will beat the Kings Tuesday.

Go Denver tonight against the Rockets! I'd like to see the Rockets fall to the 4th or 5th seed, as to avoid the Spurs in the second round should the Lakers get that far.
