Re: Memphis only a dozen game out of playoff reach. Can they make it?
Here's how it works. As of today the Grizzlies will get Houston's pick to satisfy the terms of the Steve Francis trade. Hopefully the Rockets will end up in the lottery if you're a Grizz fan. Right now if the season ended today they would be.
The Grizz will also get Orlando's first round pick which is via Sacramento. Therefore since Sacramento has the third best record in the NBA, that pick will be around 27 thru 29, somewhere in that range.
The Grizz made a very bad trade for Otis Thorpe when the team was in Vancouver. Stu Jackson was the GM at the time. He now is David Stern's right hand man in New York.
So the Grizzlies get two first round picks and a third depending upon if they win the NBA Draft Lottery or you can call it the Lebron James sweepstakes.Comment

Check these numbers out.
Assist per turnover.
Jason Williams' is number 2 on that list. It may or may not change depending on tonight's game.
It's real impressive, IMO/
Last year his asst/to was set at 2.4252. He went up quite a bit.
His 3 pt. % is at an all time high too.Comment
