Seriously, if Miami went through with this trade, as reported, Riley would need to be drawn and quartered.

How is that? Getting Wade, likely could mean passing up Rose. Both Rose and Wade are from Chicago.

Does it really matter if they are both from the city of the big shoulders? What if one is from Cleveland and the other is from Ironwood, MI?

I hope the Bulls management isn't all gung ho in getting talent just because they are from Chicago.

The bottom line is, this trade is unbalanced, favoring the Bulls.

Seriously, if you were Riley, would you pull that trade?

Because it's a terrible trade that only Chicago fans would attempt to legitimize.

Because a trade of Wade and Beasley for Rose is completely ridiculous.

The difference between Beasley and Rose is maybe a Jason Williams or Hinrich plus the pick, but Wade? **** no.

You didnt understand the question. You say this is rampant homerism but in reality acuiring one Chicago player (Wade)possibly means losing another Chicago player (Rose). It makes no sense to attribute any of this to homerism as you did for that reason.

And as far as perceived value is concerned, I think most Bulls fans agree that its going to take players to make it work.

Id trade either Hinrich or Thomas and Deng or Gordon.

I dont know who you were responding to but, actually, I was saying they should give up more than you. I dont see the problem with two players and the #1 for Wade and the #2. Also, if it required one more player to make it work, the Bulls could easily justify it depending on who that additional player is.

Also, Fred Mitchell did acknowledge that it might also require some combination of players to make it work.

Dwyane Wade says he keeps hearing his name mentioned in trade rumors involving the Bulls and Miami Heat.

Would the Bulls give up the No. 1 draft position to the Heat in exchange for Wade and the No. 2 overall selection? Or some combination of other players and picks?
This is actually how it was reported.

And you didn't understand why I initially called out local newspaper homerism. The first suggestion that everyone saw the local writer print was Wade and the #2 for the number 1. The writer offered the Or as another alternative, not the first choice.

I really don't think the writer was thinking both Wade and Rose are both from Chicago and they could lose out on one or the other. If you knew what the writer was thinking, then congrats to you for having connections.

Do people really think that the deal would be Wade and the #2 for the #1 pick? Of course it's going to have to include other players.

                          Anything to sell a newspaper.

The guy writing that is not even a Bulls basketball beat writer. He's just a Trib columnist looking to write an article. He is in charge of the Metro Copy Desk. He doesnt even know about salary matching - Heat just cant trade Wade for a pick. Bulls would have to add players to equal salary.

If anything, the other Bulls-Heat rumor is if the Bulls take Rose 1st. They will trade Hinrich (plus fill ins?) for the 2 pick and a salary fill in.

There would have to be a hell of a lot of fill-ins to get the #2 pick for Hinrich. That's terrible.

The only way I see the Bulls getting the #2 pick for Hinrich and fill ins is if those fill-ins include Derrick Rose.
