Exactly, I want to see this list of players.

As far as I know, most Celtic fans said if he wins a ring his HOF chances are very possible. Who did you hear this from? A few Celtic fans on a board? You're right, that is kinda funny.

I remember Longhorn saying and there were a few others. I don't remember anyone adding if he wins a ring then he's a possible hall of famer.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I do. It might actually be in this thread.

Hell, I'd like to see where I said that. I very rarely even post in this forum, and Pierce has been my favorite Celtic since he was drafted (I was in the anti-Walker camp), so I doubt I'd ever actually say he was no more than an all-star.

The only thing I've said in this thread was that, if Pierce won a ring he would go down as one of the best Celtics to ever wear the uniform, instead of one of the best Celtics to never win a ring.

As far as whether or not he is a Hall of Famer, it is debateable. He needs another few years (another ring would be a lock) of good stats and success and he'll be in. Right now, it could go either way. The fact that he is one of the best Celtics in history could help him in the media, though.

Agree with everything in this. Nice level headed post.

Actually I got your words wrong, I apologize if that's not what you meant.
As much as I like Pierce, can't say I had ever heard someone saying PP should be in the Hall.

Ah, I actually do remember saying that. I didn't mean that I didn't think he had a shot at the Hall, it's just before this season, even in Boston, I have never really heard people put the words Hall of Fame and Paul Pierce together.

This season has certainly changed that, though. As evidenced by this thread.

Re: Is Paul Pierce a Hall of Fame player?

Like I've stated numerous times, I think Pierce is headed there when he is all said and done. Unless some horrid injury happens, he should put up another very respectable 4-5 years if he stays in shape. If he keeps his defense up, then it's a no brainer. If he continues to play defense the way he played it this year, and still stays that very big offensive threat, I think it's really a no brainer.

If he retired today, 50-50 IMO; could go either way. *The 50 positive is because he is one of the best Celtics of all time, and very good career stats*

If he has another really good 2-3 years and a couple more respectable ones after that, he is in. Regardless if he wins another championship or not.

Don't make me do the research, find all the players that have career stats on the same level as 23ppg, 6.5rebs, and 4 asts, no league mvps or scoring titles or nba 1st teams or 2nd teams. 1 ring shouldn't drown out all these facts, especially next to two all-star caliber players.

Scoring titles and MVP's are hard to get when you play in a league with players like Kobe Bryant. Being in the HOF doesn't mean you were the best when you played, but you were certainly up there in a high regard.
