At first I absolutely hated the name, but now it's starting to grow on me.

I hope there's a curse on the franchise and Clay Bennett's every waking moment until the Seattle Sonics are playing in the NBA, again.

But really, what a ****ty logo and the uniforms are probably going to be worse. Worst looking team and worst playing team for at least 3-5 years. Have fun OK.

The logo looks like the letters OKC over a slice of pizza.

I laughed until my eyes teared when I read that.

I'm looking at the logo and trying to figure out where they went wrong artistically. The triangle thing seems to be the main offender. Then I read your post, lol.

I agree with the others, the logo sucks. too many colors, many of which are "happy colors" that don't belong with the Thunder name. plus there is no reflection of the team name worked into it. just kinda blah, like the rockets, pistons, clippers, lakers, knicks.

oh, the logo was designed by OK's only good advertising agency Ackerman-McQueen (for whom I used to work for). not their best work at all.

The Rockets logo isn't bad, the left side of the R is made to look like a rocket and the bottom of the R gives the illusion of a takeoff.

Why do so many NBA teams incorporate a basketball into their logo?

I think it's because the head of the design teams are probably trying to please their bosses rather than the entire NBA community.

The OKC Thunder logos above are incredible. How could those possibly not get owner and league approval?

Oklahoma City Marshalls = rugged

Oklahoma City Thunder = another attempt by David Stern to pussify the league even more. Thunder sounds like a WNBA team name for f#*% sake. God forbid they use a name that can be associated with "gunslingers" when the NBA is so family friendly these days.
