I Discovered The Lack OF Free Throw Problem In ID 2003
In the game when teams are in the penalty and commit an offensive foul the other team don't go to the line... In the NBA you do. I know because I was watch the first half of Bos at Uta and Malone got foul going for defense rebound, Boston was in the penalty Karl Malone went to the line....Tags: None -

What are you talking about? You just said that Malone went up to get a defensive rebound and he was fouled? That's not an offensive foul, so he would go to the line. You don't send the other team to the line if they're in the penalty and commit an offensive foul. Only a defensive foul, and ID 2003 most definitely does this properly. Besides, that's not where the lack of free throw attempts problem comes from. The AI is just not very aggressive on D and they do not take charges in the paint, so no fouls are called in the paint. They do a terrible job of contesting shots and protecting the paint, but do a good job with preventing the drive for the most part.
In ID 2003, when you go up for a defensive rebound and the other team's in the penalty and they foul you, it's called a pushing foul and then you get two free throws. So it's definitely there in ID 2003. I've had it happen to me quite a few times. -

Re: I Discovered The Lack OF Free Throw Problem In ID 2003
The AI has nothing to do with it really. Frankly, I think the AI is the best in any b-ball game out right now, but there's a definite problem with contesting shots and taking charges in the paint. I actually see the AI trying to stop drives into the paint by taking the charge, but no fouls are called, so it in effect becomes pointless. I don't know why no fouls are called in the paint, but I hope the programmers fix this for next year.Comment

The AI is great, but I meant the AI as far as free throws go...plain and simple, its the AI's fault there aren't enough free throws...Comment

Re: I Discovered The Lack OF Free Throw Problem In ID 2003
Right now in my season with Dallas I've been getting to the line an average of about 8 times with 6 minute quarters. Twice I've been at the line like 15 times...so everything is going good for me as far as free throws are concerned so far...I just hope it stays that way.Comment

Oh, and 11 games into the season, and I've already shot 30 freethrows with Nick Van Exel...about 17 with nash, and yea, weird. Thigns are looking good.Comment
