Last but not least, he is one of most clutch shooters in the game. That is an All Star to me.
Forgive me if im wrong but didnt Pierce cover Kobe 99% of the time he was on the floor for the finals?

I get your point, I just disagree. And JR Smith (despite being my dude) is not an all-star, so that comparison wasn't worthwhile. If we're comparing Ray to Vince Carter this year for the All-Star Game, it's Vince easily in my mind.

And defense isn't a "wow factor" for the casual fan except for blocks that fly into the 3rd row. You're too much of a basketball fan to care about the ASG, basically.. hah. I am too, but I've just decided to accept that the voting is flawed and run with it to get the most exciting game to watch out of the deal.

And in any case, it was Thibodeau's scheme and the coherent team defense of the Celtics that contained Kobe and the Lakers.. One man cannot guard Kobe effectively, and that's been shown over and over again. No "wow factor" from me.

You are right. I just want to see guys that are deserving attend the game. Is that so much to ask? I agree that Vince should go. I said if I had to replace anyone it would be Jamison because he is the one player on that list most guilty of playing on one end (offense).

Thibodeau had a great scheme but Ray Allen, Pierce, Posey, and Tony Allen still had to execute it.

One of my guys (Nene) isn't even on the ballot this year despite leading the league in FG% and coming back form a laundry list of injuries/issues last season. I think JR's on the ballot though -- kinda funny how that works out. It's like when we had to suffer through those Bulls/Heat games on TNT last season because the schedule-makers thought it would be a good matchup based on 06-07... no way to predict who'll have a breakout year or a return to form.

Ugh, don't remind me about those games last year. Just brutal basketball.

Don't dare credit Ray Allen or Paul Pierce for "shutting" Kobe down.

They did that against ever star player. THat is the new NBA defense. Help help help....

Anyway I think Derrick Rose and Devin Harris are fighting it out for an allstar spot. Devin Harris was the best Big Ten player I had ever seen since Jim Jackson or Glenn Robinson. It is no surprise to me if he scores 20+ a game.
