Ya. But unless Carmelo wins the national title and averages about 50ppg for the next 2 games, I don't think anyone will even consider him the #1 pick, over Darko or LeBron.

But look at Lebron he didn't average 50 points in his high school playoffs but every body and their momma has King James fever. Carmelo has proved himself against some of the best teams in the nation. Lebron is playinga against dudes who might be the best someday but in the words of scouts at the Mickey D's game the guys at this game except for James are long ways from being NBA ready

True. But scouts said LeBron would be the #1 pick in LAST years draft if eligible, but then Darko has become available for this draft, so people debate.

                IMO, i'd draft...
                Darko, then LeBron, then Carmellllo.

                    Re: I\'d Draft Darko...

Some people understand but most people don't this draft isn't about picking a player that can go out and win rite away nor is it even about picking the player that will be the best
                    sports is a business period
and in a business you have to make money and how do you make money?

well you sell jerseys and tickets etc......
and be honest with your self who is gonna sell the most jerseys or bring the most people in.
                    Darko, Lebron, or carmelo

I think if ur all honest with your self ur answear will be LeBron and that is why Lebron will never move from that number one pick

yes of course if he tears his acl he might drop key word might but the only way Lebron Drops out of the top 3 is i hate to say it but if he dies

How is NCAA college basketball a business?

How do you make money? By winning.

I know a real easier way LeBron could drop out of the top 3, he commits to a college. (Yes, it wont happen, but still, he doesnt have to die).

Oh, and so I guess people in the Raptors orginization are doing well because Vince Carter is popular? And sells a lot of Jerseys? Even the orginization doesn't draw a large crowd? Better than say, the Pistons? Or even a more dominant team, say the spurs? How many kids wear Tim Duncan jerseys? If LeBron is drafted to a bad team, and he comes in, how long will people pay to see him play? Kwame Brown was a #1 HS pick, and the only reason people went to Wizards games was for MJ. And if say, the Nuggets draft LeBron, do you think ticket sales are gonna go up that much, if they loose like this year?

Back to the point. I would take Darko #1

I don't understand this are you saying the Raptors aren't drawing well? They're somewhere in the top 10-15 in League attendence. If I misunderstood you then sorry

U sure? If your right, I appoligize, but i coulda swore Toronto was in the bottom 3rd of the league for attendance. Seriously, if someone finds the real #'s it would clear it up...

my memory is hazy. yur probably right tho. I thought they had low attendance. My bad.
