Maybe Nash should grow his hair again. Didn't the Suns play better when he had long hair?

i think he never had a real window with the Suns. I could never see any recent Suns team go to the finals and win it all.

                True.

Defensive efficiency (points given up per 100 possessions)

                04-05: 17th
                05-06: 16th
                06-07: 13th
                07-08: 16th

I agree with Matrix that the Suns were never the terrible defensive team they got a rap for...they just gave up a ton of possessions. Howevah, the Suns were at best a mediocre defensive club, which is crazy considering they had 2 all-league defenders in Marion and Bell. In the playoffs, when defense and half court possesions are key...they never really had a chance, and the proof was in the pudding. They had trouble with low seed 1st round matchups twice for crying out loud.

That said, Sarver could have and should have built a real "Superteam" since they got real good value out of guys like Bell and Diaw, a team that could have won dispite their defense...but lets not kid oursleves. The Suns were still as stacked as any recent champ. The bottom line is that the league has gotten the memo re: defense, and while Porter may not be the guy to get the franchise turned around, the PHX faithful will have to be patient while the Colangelo/D'Antoni "circus-ball" stink is washed off. You guys will not regret it, trust me.

That team was built for fun, not titles. At least Suns fans got to watch interesting basketball.

Why trade a young player for an old player who you prolli can get in 2010 for a discount, plus they don't need him right now(Nash) they made it clear they are not contending untill 2010...keep marbury's contract...IMO they coulda handled that better....
