    By Rob Peterson, NBA.com

As the NBA season passes the quarter mark, the Boston Celtics and the Cleveland Cavaliers have begun flirting. Not with each other, mind you, but with two historic numbers...

Yeah, definitely not the Cavaliers. I definitely think the Cavaliers will win 60+, but not 70

If the Celtics don't win 70, they'll at least win 65.

I don't think the Cavs can get 70 wins and I definitely cant see the Celtics pulling 75 wins.

But who knows, records are made to be broken.

Injuries will make this not happen. It already bit the Cavs with Boobie and Z going down. Huge drop in team performance.

Neither of them will win 70.

If anyone has a chance, it is the Celtics.

They got the strongest core of players to stay focused game in, game out.

They also can deal with injury a lot better than the Cavs. Lebron is out for a couple games, those are probably all losses. Celtics lose Allen for a game or two for example, they still have Pierce/Garnett and solid depth.

The Cavs have already lost too many games to have a realistic chance at 70 wins.

The Celtics are capable of making a run at it though.

I don't know about Cleveland but I could see Boston making a run. Also the same fate for the Lakers as well.

It's a lot harder than most people think because coaches rest their players at the end of the season to prepare for the playoffs once they've secured the position they want. Now, this can be an interesting year, because if the Cavs can continue to put pressure on the Celtics, then the Celtics might have to play 81 or even all 82 games competitively in order to secure the 1st seed.

Lakers have a better chance because there are so many really awful teams in the West while most of the teams in the East are still in the playoff race.

While I would agree with that, the Celtics are capable of beating every team by double digits, whereas the Lakers are not. The Lakers might have an easier schedule, but they don't always play up to the competition.

It depends on what happens on April. If the Celtics or Lakers feel safe and ranked 1st no matter what, they'll probably play more with their supporting cast, so their stars won't get injured before the playoffs. This will probably lead to some loses.
