no team in the current league is capable of that imo. celtics aren't nearly as dominant as the bulls were in that year. they escaped a few times...

maybe 65, but not more.

If anyone has a chance, it is the Celtics.

They got the strongest core of players to stay focused game in, game out.

They also can deal with injury a lot better than the Cavs. Lebron is out for a couple games, those are probably all losses. Celtics lose Allen for a game or two for example, they still have Pierce/Garnett and solid depth.

Um, you can't compare the Cavs losing LeBron to the Celts losing Ray Allen.

If the Cavs lost LeBron or if the Celts lost KG or PP, they would be in BIG trouble.

I were a fan I wouldn't want them to try. The goal is the win the championship. If it happens fine. But I would not extend anyones minutes in certain games where I would normally pull them out.

I would think the older team would be at more risk trying to go for it though.

I think the Celtics definitly could. They play hard every night and KG won't allow it any other way. With two scorers on the perimeter and a budding star at PG they are the best team of the 00's so I could definitely see them winning 70.

Cavs...no. Too many inconsistent players off the bench. Plus Mo WIlliams will have bad games, really bad games. And Z will get hurt or at least sit for a few games. And L Tranes FT's are shaky down the stretch.

With the weak West the Lakers stand a chance too.

I don't know about Cleveland but I could see Boston making a run. Also the same fate for the Lakers as well.

Lakers have a better chance because there are so many really awful teams in the West while most of the teams in the East are still in the playoff race.

To say the Lakers could win 70 games is laughable, especially with the way they have been playing lately. Also, no. Neither team will win 70 games.

The bigger point to take would be the Celtics still getting 62 when everyone said (and still is saying) that they'd be done without KG.
