You act like he didn't have great dunks when he was in. The only bad part was him doing his last dunk 50 times.

Joe Alexander has Lebron James/Monta Ellis/Lou Williams type of bounce.

He got that Horse Tendon Implants in his legs.

I went to Las Vegas earlier this year for Summer League and this dude was doing windmills from a step behind the free throw line very causally.

like all of their games... I'm sure the dunk contest will be on their free telecast. So I'm almost 100% positive that it's watchable.

it was such a slap in the face to Spud Webb for Nate to win. Spud ACTUALLY deserved his win. Having Nate win was like the NBA pushing their own written history down our throats.

Iggy was the clear-cut winner in my eyes. He got robbed.

For 2009, I'll be voting in Rudy F. but cheering for Rudy G.

I didn't know Rudy Fernandez is a great dunker (haven't seen enough Blazers games). Is he that good?

IMO no he's not a dunk contest dunker but he is a good in-game dunker.

I feel like Joe Alexander is too tall, and Russell Westbrook is too short. Rudy is 6'6" & 190 lbs... remind ya of anyone?

                          Re: 2009 Slam Dunk Contest

Rudy Fernandez is a guy that I don't see doing too much cool stuff in a dunk contest. He is a nasty in game dunker though, kinda reminds me of a Ginobili style dunker.

Joe Alexander NEEDS to be picked out of the 3. He's had some of the most ridiculous warm-up dunks I've ever seen and I saw a video of him in practice at WVU where he just dunks at will from all angles.

                          Here it is:
                          <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/GdAYyqSOuPc&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/GdAYyqSOuPc&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

And here is his 2009 "Vote For Me" video where he smacks his forehead on the rim.
                          <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/6VBZ7LvD4Wg&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/6VBZ7LvD4Wg&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

That's weird. The video actually on NBA.com/dunk has it without the part of him speaking Mandarin.

Anyway, when I first heard that Joe Alexander could be in it, I thought it was a joke, just because even as a Bucks fan, I was absolutely unfamiliar with his dunking ability. I guess I know now, and have voted for Alexander a couple of times.

The following things, however, must be jokes:
1.) The final spot needs to be a rookie... why?
2.) Instead of us voting, just bring in all 6 guys. The old dunk contests had 8 participants, then 6, then it went down to 4 when they did the stupid wheel-of-dunks in Richardson's first year. They seem to be pretty hard-up for quality participants, so when people actually want to be in the contest, you drive them off?
3.) Nate Robinson is back? I thought his 15 minutes were up (meaning 15 minutes of fame, not how long it took him to complete his last dunk in 2006).
4.) Rudy Gay was atrocious last year, and now he's back. Bring back Jamario Moon. He never got a fair shake.

Kudos though for retaining an all-NBA first-teamer in Dwight Howard. However, any credibility they add for having a star is diminished by the stupid prop dunks that will inevitably win it.

So yeah, I will still watch, and I now support Joe Alexander. He also has a campaign website, seejoedunk.com (actually nba.com/bucks/seejoedunk.html).

The dunk contest stopped being cool when Lebron said no to it. Ever since then, I haven't enjoyed it.
