No. There are a million small guys who could score before him. He just has done it the best and the longest. He didn't redefine anything but the palmover crossover dribble.

I'm with trob... Durant is a player that will redefine his position, is younger and less developed than Roy (leaving him more room for improvement) and already has a ton of talent. In three years I see Durant being just as good or better than Roy.
No way. Roy owns him defensively. I don't really think Durant will ever be a great defender, but I think Roy could be a very very good one.

Kevin Durant is more different of a player than Brandon Roy ever could be at the SG position. Blocking, rebounding, defensively, offensively mismatched.... this guy is better and different (in a more effective way) than any SG in the league right now.

Lets not go to far now. First Durant is a small forward not a shooting guard. He spends most of his time at the 3 and starts at the 3. He plays better at the SF position and rebounds better from playing SF. Second even if he was a full time SG he isn't better and different than EVERY SG. Have you forgot who D-Wade and Kobe are. They both score you more point, they both play WAY BETTER defense, Wade get you more blocks, steals, and assists, and Durant only gets you ONE more rebound. So that one board doesn't come close to matching up to their superior defense, passing, finishing at the basket, and intangibles. Even guys like Joe Johnson are more well rounded than Durant. His time will come but to proclaim him the most versitle player in the league is too much.

I still think it's Oden, if not then I'm going with Rose.

I feel Oden is vastly overrated. I remember when people wre saying that he was the next Bill Russell. I just can't see him dominating.

If he could stay healthy then I would agree. Right now its hard to see much promise in him though. He moves around like a 50 year old man. I don't think he will ever get up to the level of a Olajuwan (sp), Ewing, or Robinson.

Does anybody remember when B. Roy was coming out of UW for the draft, and the projection by just about every scout/analyst was that he would be a "nice" player? Maybe a 10 year pro, solid starter, but never an all-star. I just have to laugh at that now.
