Ive had the exact same problem with the PG also.
Yesterday i played the hornets and Baron Davis lit me up with 48 pts and he went to the line 23 times and sinking 17 and all of the fouls was becuz of him driving thru the lane and everytime i try to foul i get hooked with the foul.
And i just finish a game against the Magic and for some reason McGrady was the PG and he was 15-20 from the ft line and it it was all in the lane.
    How do i prevent this.

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

I HATE this too. Lower the Shooting Fouls slider. And lower the AI Dunk/Layup vs. Shot Tendecy.

I've had the PG like stop at the Free Throw line and sorta wait. When I'm stopped in front of him, he just drives running into me and getting the And-one, shot and foul. It's crazy. I even lowered all the PGs ratings before i started the season. This PG bug is too annoying. Even the leagues worst PGs will put up 20+ every game.

    Ninja........????

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

There's only one real way to stop it, you have to go behind the pick and be waiting for the PG...that stops him driving...and it helps the game as he then passes. Even if the PG is crap, often use a souble team so that someone is waiting for him the 'other side' of the pick.

Only problem is, he'll often get an easy assist to a free guy under the bucket. This game is frustrating ...

I don't have this problem with the Point Guard scoring heaps at all..

The way I play defense is that I control the person who took the last shot on my offense. So if I scored with Tim Duncan for example, I would then control him, and only him, until I go on offense again. Say then I score with Tony Parker, then I'll defend the oppositions PG until I go on offense again.

How accurate is the comment that "OA only equals the amount of shots that person will take"? Because in my opinion, John Stockton would have a very high offensive awareness rating because he knows the court so well which is evidenced by his high assist ratings. This would go for most of the PG's in the NBA. They would generally have higher OA's than other players. That's why they're PG's, and not SG's..

But if the comment that OA's only dictates how many shots a player will take then that all goes down the toilet and they should all be reduced down to realistic levels according to the amount of shots they take..

      Whattya reckon guys?

          Antigravity,
I don't think anyone has a rock solid idea of how offensive awareness comes into play, but I'm pretty sure it determines how likely a person will shoot the rock and how aware that person is of teammates around him.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

The higher the OA slider, the more players will hold on to the ball and look to score. They will pass less and look to score by themselves.

              thats my experience with it.

                  DMac and Don Matta,
My suggestion is to double team the ball handler once they cross half court to get it out of their hands. guard them manually and then call for a double team. On Xbox it's the white button. Also, flirt with some zones. In the 2k3 guide it is said that 1-3-1 zone works good against penetration.

hey ninjamonkey.....ummm dont you think you got the computer shooting too many 3's? zerbiack on minnesota shot 6 three pointers on me at half, and the whole team has 17 three pointers in the first half...that slider is way to high.

I am playing a franchise with the sliders you posted on page 2 in the other slider thread, but I am having a few problems..

I play 12 minute quarters, on normal speed and I am noticing a disturbing trend. Both Baron Davis and Jason Kidd shot around 15-20 shots most from the outside in the FIRST half.

So I wanted to ask what sliders should I modify to get them to shoot less, also I am scoring pretty much at will.. should I raise defensive awareness?

                              All help appreciated.
