College is over! Let the NBA Draft scouting begin!

After seeing the NC championship I have a few comments about those players going to the next level.

Carmelo Anthony played great, he wasn't anywhere close to 100%. He will be a great player, I don't see him coming back to Syracuse, and I see him as a lock for top 3. I don't see him going over LeBron, there is a chance of him going over Darko though. I don't know enough about Darko to comment, but those 3 are definetly a lock for the top 3.

Nick Collison. He seems like one of those great college players not going to do squat in the NBA. Yeah, he's a big man, averaged a good 20-10, but can you seem him averaging 20-10 going up against the likes of Duncan, Garnett, Webber, and all the other big men? I can't...

Kirk Hinrich didn't shoot particulary well, but he was very clutch towards the end. He is definetly quick enough for the NBA, he has good ball handling and pass skills, and I can see him running an offense for an NBA team. I usually don't agree with NBAdraft.net, but he does seem a lot like Sam Cassell.

    Other Final Four Teams:
Marquette- No one but Wade this year for the NBA. I'm not sure if Wade will go, but if he does he's going to have to prove a lot in the pre-draft camps because of his height. There are also questions about his ability to step up in big-time games (see Marquette-Kansas).

Texas- T.J. Ford is the only real candidate to make it to the NBA from Texas, but I don't think he will make the jump this year. He still needs to improve his shot, and pray that he grows a few more inches. 1-2 inches could make a world of difference for him in the NBA, although that is asking a lot...

    Other Big players:
Luke Walton and Jason Gardner- Both 2nd Round Picks at best
Dahntay Jones- Someone could gamble on him late in the 1st round, most likely a 2nd round pick.
Hollis Price- 2nd round pick at best.

    That's all for now...

    Starting threads like crazy....

Ya, I think Collison will be top 20, most likely first round though, he could be a great college player, not so great pro, but its still early, pre-draft camps, HS entries, trades, etc. Walton a 2nd rounder? Wow, I dont kno too much about him besides from watching games, but I thought scouts would be higher than on him than 2nd round, im prolly wrong. I'm not the best at projecting draft positions.

I'm not convinced on Collison. He's 6-9, and plays the 4, and his skills aren't good enough to make up for his lack of height. Like I said before, just picture him going up against Duncan and Garnett.

I'm interested to see where Josh Howard ends up going. I'm gonna guess 15-20.

Anthony is a lock at #3 unless something happens to the big foreign guy or unless a teem with good big men draw the #2 pick.

I'm not sold on either Kansas player personally. Wade is gone to the pro's, and I think TJ Ford will jump. I hope not, as maybe Charlotte's new NBA Franchise could pick him next year!

On a side note, LeBron better hope that Cleveland does not land #1 on Lotto day. I'd rather go to Denver, Toronto, Memphis, Atlanta, ANYWHERE! I know he is from Ohio, but the Cavs are where players go to die!

Hopefully Collison will be drafted by an Eastern Conference team so he won't have to go against the likes of Duncan and Garnett too often.

I think Carmelo gonna be a star though. He's quick, can shoot, and tall. If he puts on a little more weight he may be able to play 4 sometimes but mostly 3 or even 2.

Lets name so players not in the Final Four...

Ricky Paulding - Who thinks he will jump? He has a pretty good NBA-type game, because he's real strong on his jumper, and his got pretty good size.

Mike Sweetney - Could be a steal for an Eastern Conference power in the 2nd round. He's definetly not tall, but he holds his ground, and a potent rebounder.

Hollis Price - For some reason I feel like his stock went down as the tourney progressed. I know he was hurt, but it seemed like he got worse and worse by the day. Still, he has an Allen Iverson type game (coming from a "Iverson fanboy") and he can play pretty good 1-on-1 defense.
