Will he still be considered as a all-star? Like on his resume would it say 2008-2009 all- star? I really think they should expaned the team to 15 if not

Re: Jameer Nelson - Torn Labrum
Jameer has always been a PG. He was the PG and Delonte was the SG. Gordon has always been a SG but has played some spot minutes at PG on the floor.Comment

Hopefully they either move Jonathan Clay or give him some more burn, preferrably the former.Comment

Re: Jameer Nelson - Torn Labrum
Any Pacers fan know the word on Jamaal Tinsley? I just read that he's filing a grievance, but is there any chance the Pacers might actually waive him?
Without trades, I think Tinsley would be the best available FA PG out right now. Other options are Damon Stoudamire, Francis, Jason Williams and Shaun Livingston, none of which excite me too much.
The guy is just sitting at home getting payed 7 million a year. They might waive him, they might buy him out, they might trade him...no one here in Indy really knows what's going to happen. From what I've heard, not many teams want Tinsley at this point. And I don't know if you guys do either. He's a decent player, but his work ethic is poor and Jim O'Brien has made it completely obvious that Tinsley is a "cancer" and he can't win with him. lol.Indianapolis Colts

Re: Jameer Nelson - Torn Labrum
Due to there being no other "PG type" worthy of starting.
When Hedo Turkoglu is the go-to-guy to intiate the offense late in games or otherwise, and Jameer isn't running the offense can we really call him a PG?
He falls into the same category as A.I. playing the point.
Watching Jameer some this season via leaguepass he shoots too much on a team that has 3 other <much better> options.
Unlike in years past his 3 pt shot is falling this year (at a career high %), and I guess he's allowed to chuck it more.
He's a bit undersized for the 2, but so is A.I.
If they did trade for an Earl Watson, or similar skilled point I'd think they'd be better suited to start him and Jameer.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Jameer plays that position by default IMO.

Also, he can't play a lick of defense on players bigger than him. He would get torched on D.
Our problem here isn't lack of players to run shooting guard (Pietrus, Lee, Bogans), it's a lack of guys to run point. Moving Jameer to SG would be counter-productive and expose Orlando's weakness even more.
As far as getting a replacement... If we do get a guy like Earl Watson, I'm still interested to see how his shooting might hurt us. Because Dwight doesn't handle double teams well, if opposing PGs are allowed to help out on D, it could bother our offense quite a bit.
Jameer Nelson, who was at Wednesday's shootaround as a spectator, said damage to his shoulder is significant.
He said he has a "pretty good-sized tear" in the labrum of his right shoulder.
He said he still hadn't decided which course of action to take in his recovery, whether to rehab and try to play or have surgery soon.
Not good.
It's looking like he'll be out for the season and will most likely need surgery.Last edited by Brankles; 02-04-2009, 03:05 PM.Comment

Sucks, this really really sucks for fans.
Looks like it's even more clear-cut in the East-- Cavs or Celtics. Magic were that wild card team.Comment

Re: Jameer Nelson - Torn Labrum
Anthony Johnson has 17 points at halftime (his season high already), hitting 5 threes.
My jaw is on the floor.
And while I'm typing this, he just hit another 3, with 20 points and 6 threes (that's his career high).
He's getting interviewed at half. I'm amazed.Comment

Re: Jameer Nelson - Torn Labrum
Maybe SVG just set up a PG system, like a Hawaii/Texas Tech QB.
We can put anyone back there and he'll put up numbers!
Courtney Lee had 14 at half, and he was our backup PG.
I won't get too excited about this game, because 1) it's not over yet and 2) it's against the Clippers.. but this is very good to see.Comment
