When they signed him to a 6yr/$64mil deal it was based on his 'potential'.

Nobody EVER saw him as more than a shot blocker/rebounder.

Yea they paid him based on his POTENTIAL, but that doesn't mean they thought it was THAT HIGH.

Yea that free agent class was a bad one, and Philly did overpay everyone that yr: Korver, Sammy, Green. Like I said though...Dalembert immediately came to mind.

Beasley...Hes undersized to play the PF position...And he lacks speed and outside ability at the SF. He will be average throughout his career unless he works hard on his game..

I think it would be a lack of anything tough. The dude is like a less talented version of Dirk, and that just won't fly in the NBA. He kind of reminds me of a more talented Brian Cook, actually.

Beasley is way more explosive than Dirk athletically. He has long arms and can really get around his opponents with a very quick first step. Dirk is an impressive basketball player, but an underwhelming athlete.


I think with Beasley its all mental. Looking at his assist and rebound numbers, it's just disgusting. That's a guy hanging around the perimeter waiting for the ball. Not a good look.

That's what I mean. He's going to end up being a worse version of Dirk, even if he is a better athlete. He has all the tools though.

He refuses to bang down low. I don't know if it's because he's weak or just doesn't want to do it, but he's never going to be the beast he was supposed to be unless he adds that strength/low post game.
