Oh man, that draft was horrible. Yup, Michael Redd best player out of 2000. My boy D-Steezy in that draft though.

I thought Erick Barkley was going to be good, and Mateen cleaves.

Worst in terms of star players probably so, but there are some solid role players that came out of that draft so it's not like no one amounted to anything.

True and even back then it was a joke Michael Redd fell as far as he did with his production at Ohio State. That Draft shows why you don't draft on potential alone.

However, Kenyon Martin was an absolute beast paired w/ Jason Kidd - prior to microfracture surgery.

Worst in terms of star players probably so, but there are some solid role players that came out of that draft so it's not like no one amounted to anything.

There are solid role players in every draft. Other drafts have legitimate players as well as role players.

The late 80s drafts were pretty bad (88 and 89 had one combined person who averaged 20 PPG), but they still produced a handful of good players.

I also think that Hedo was a good player from the draft, but other than him, Redd and Martin, not much there.

That is the draft for any sport. Its a hard thing to judge who will be good and who will be out to the league in a year or two. At the time I'm sure the TNT guys praised those picks and they were talked about like they were the next big thing. If I were a NBA GM I would trade away all my picks to only sign players that have been in the league unless a Jordan, James, or Bryant comes along. But even then Jordan was passed over and Bryant was not even top 10 if I remember right. The NBA draft is almost pointless.
