I wish I could say I was being scarcastic.

My mom has worked 20+ years for Child Protective Services in Chesapeake, and my wife is a highschool teacher.

It is ABSOLUTELY horrible what they see/deal with.

All because Chris Bosh, Shawn Kemp, and Joe Schmo wanna get their freak on - w/ no regard of the consequences.

Aren't you being just a tad over-reactive? I mean accidents happen. Yes, it seems Bosh reacted negatively to the situation and I know a lot of guys do the same kind of thing when confronted with this situation (which is totally wrong IMO) but the act of having a baby sometimes happens when you least expect it.

So I don't think the actual act of sex is the problem the problem is when confronted with the birth of a child the father turtles and runs away rather then facing up the responsibilities. If you're going to criticize then don't leave out the fact that these guys are really just boys when it comes to being there for their child.

Whats funny is that as much as people like to blame these women for trapping these men how many people have to fall in the hole in front of you before you realize the hole is there.(Pun intended.) The act of having a baby happens if you're irresponsible and don't use protection due to either selfish reasons (feeling of a condom vs. no condom) or stupidity.

The act of sex is the problem IF the person chooses to be irresponsible, selfish, and stupid as mentioned directly above.

Referring to them as boys <etc.> is just making excuses for them.

Which is probably what everyone in their lives has done for these MEN.

Bottom line is that this behavior hinders on selfishness, on instant gratification, on Lust/Pride/Greed.

I'm just saying the act of having sex isn't completely the sole problem. If these guys want to do that then they should know that there's consequences. Let's put it this way. If I had a relationship or hell, even a fling with some woman and a baby is the result i'm not going to run away from it. I'll man up and be there for the baby.

THAT'S the main reason there's lots of broken homes not necessarily the fact that these guys chose to have sex. Although that in itself is a huge problem if they're not responsible for their actions. This is sort of a chicken and egg argument i'm making but I think there's some truth to what I say.

The act of having sex IS the sole problem IF the person is incapable or cares not to consider the consequences of his/her actions, and is not of a high enough moral standard to carry out their responsibilities.

The consequences that NOT just they face, but the consequences that this child out of wedlock, the other person, and the impact on society faces as a whole.

I think we should all really just fall back for a minute. I mean, look at where this conversation is going. A lot of you are making really good points but the fact of the matter is that we are jumping the gun. A female wants money from her rich baby daddy....? Ummm, maybe we should get all of the facts. And that's not necessarily to say that she is lying, but I feel that to many people are quick to take her side.

I reread the article and I just shake my head at the claims of Bosh being Mr. Irresponsible all of a sudden. Seriously, if he takes care of and loves his daughter, I could care less if he kicked shorty girl out the house cause at the end of the day its not about her. I wouldn't be surprised if a few weeks ago she was sitting on the phone with one of her girls saying "Can you believe he had the nerve to break up with ME? It's all good girl cause I got somethin for his a*s".

JBH I don't think were that far apart. My issue is that now days if your a certain age you "get" to call yourself a man. That is all I am saying its not about defeatist mentality at all its about having a standard again. Not just default membership into the club.
