i dissagree...other than zone defense. the D teams are allowed to play today is so much more limited.

proven by the fact that the nba changed the rules because in the 90s the leagues scoring averages had dropped to an all time low. and the nba wanted more scoring to make the product more marketable. hence the changes to open the lanes and give the offense more advantage. particularly for guards and athletic swingmen.
look at who the scoring leaders were in the 90s..other than jordan it was all bigs.
robinson, shaq, ewing, hakeem the dream, mailman.
now look at the prolific scorers since the rule changes.
    all swingmen and guards.

if jordan was in his prime today, his numbers wouldve been through the roof. the amount of physical D he had to play through compared to todays scorers is like night and day.

He used to crack me up with that because you'd know WHEN he was gonna do it but yet he would still catch folks with it lol.
I was scared to say it, but the first time ive seen someone actually use it as a tactic was (shhhhhhhhhh) Kobe Bryant in the early 00's

Reggie Miller kicking out his legs while shooting, causing the defender to collide in mid-air, is now an offensive foul.

Not true at all, in the early 90s the only difference in defense was how physical it was. Granted that is a huge difference you have much more developed scouting reports on players today. Tendencies are broken down, situations, and scenarios on a far greater basis.

I hate that they're letting guys walk more and more (LeBron's "crab dribble" issue this season)...
