I have no issue with this pick at all. Other than that I think Nate and SVG both deserved some 2nd and 3rd place consideration more than anyone else

Unfortunately, Coach of the Year means nothing. You will still be run out of a job if you lose (Avery Johnson and Sam Mitchell), and the trend is clearly to award whoever coaches the best team or the team that's made the biggest improvement. There is no quantitative way to measure coaching except wins, so sure enough, the voters regressed to that. Like has been said, expected but maybe not deserved. I don't have a better pick, but it would be nice if they did away with the award altogether and just gave out hardware for the best regular-season records.

LOL, what this guy said. Great points about Avery and Mitchell.

Who gives a rat's behind about awards. In all honesty.

        The MVP is a farce.

They have awards like 6th Man of the Year?

Everyone seems to hate the ALL Defensive teams..

Then you have this Coach of the Year award. LOL. There are so many different ways you could go with who wins it's absurd to be upset about who "wins". As long as they don't pick whoever Sacramento's coach is I'm OK.

Don't get caught up in the cynicism, Ex.

ESPN isnt the devil, and season awards aren't either. The trophies Mitchell and Avery won certainly mean something to them and their families, and can never be taken away. Of course an award doesn't come with a lifetime guarantee of job security or success..and neither does a championship.

This is pretty much gonna sum up the awards for this season. Once I saw he won it, I just laughed, because it's a joke. Apparently the NBA doesn't recognized the true winner of these awards.

I don't care if you guys hold these awards in high or low esteem, I personally pay no mind to them.

I don't think awards are bad for the league or that they're the devil at all.

              Funny you should mention ESPN..

ESPN and awards alike cannot be digested on the surface level. Both offer superficial info which is a good thing, but both should be viewed with a magnifying glass for a closer analysis.

Exactly. You'd have to admit that the vast majority see Mike Brown in superficial terms...Over the last few years he's earned the tag as a coach who concentrated solely on defense, and now the masses are really struggling with the reality that the perception is no longer true. Bottom line, as long as LeBron exists, Brown will never get the credit...especially since he constantly deflects it to the players.
