T-mac Sells out his own team?

His pick for the title: “Lakers. (Host: That easy, again?) It’s no knock on Cleveland, I think Cleveland’s gonna get there… Cleveland to me is really not that good. If you take what the Celtics did last year… You knew, they were either gonna get to the finals, or they were gonna win it. You can’t really say the same thing about the Cavaliers. Although, they had the best record in the league this year, a lot of people like, ‘Okay, they havin’ a great year, but we don’t know if they can win the championship.’ They really didn’t do anything on the road with the elite teams in the league, they lost, they had a bad record when they went to face the elite teams in the league. I think they’re a good team, but I don’t they’re ready to take the next step.”

That's not a sellout. If he was selling out, he would have revealed how to beat the Rockets.

He gave a honest answer, so no one should be mad about that. But of course, people will make a big deal out of it.

come on now, when your team is in the playoffs, you are supposed to support them... he should be at every game on the sideline cheering them on and he should have it in his heart and mind that they can win a championship... eh he would get a ring even tho he aint playin lol... this just says a lot about t-mac's character... he should not be picking other teams unless his team is eliminated... and honestly houston does have a chance...

as a bit of insight... why isn't T-Mac on the sideline while his team is in the playoffs? (rhetorical question)

I wonder how much money is riding on his bet with his cousin Vince on who can be the most hated teammate.

Re: T-mac Sells out his own team?

How does saying another team is the favorite a show of non-support?

Another question: Who here thinks Houston has a better chance to win it all than the Lakers? No one? So your problem is that T-Mac didn't lie?

Re: T-mac Sells out his own team?

While he didn't sell out his team or throw his team under the bus like this thread title says and some people or saying it still was the wrong thing to say. I mean you NEVER pick against your OWN team even if you believe the Lakers would beat them. There is a such thing as honesty but there is also a thing called stupid and that he was T-Mac's comment was. He could have very easily skipped the question or say something along the lines of "I'm pulling for my team hopefully we can make a run for it." Then that way he wouldn't be going against them and not saying they would win at the same time.

Please make your case for Vince "I feel like mailing it in tonight" Carter being a better teammate. I didn't know that only trying occasionally was a desirable quality in a player.

Can't do nothing in Sports without people getting on you.

But yea, I agree with JD on this. Dude gave an honest answer. I mean isn't that what WE want athletes to do since we are the Judge, Jury, and Executioner?

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Yeah. Forget the same old bull that athletes give in interviews, at least he's being honest instead of just thinking one thing and saying another.
